My mum used to send my brother to the shops with a list of stuff to buy when he was 4 years old.

Smokes being on the list and the shop used to sell them to him.

This is before the 1995 crackdown when they finally started enforcing that kids under 18 couldn't buy them.

My older brother is a lucky SOB born in 1977 so he missed the crap.
Started working and smoking at 14, I had no problems buying smokes at woollies, wasn't carded once - this was 2004.

Years later, when I could actually buy them legally I got carded every freaking time, typical
(granted that was at a different shop but still)

I was 15 when U started buying smokes.

One of my friends got me to buy him a porno once, that was kind of embarrassing at the time.
The clerk says "been having wet dreams mate?" I just remember going red in the face.

No the mag wasn't for me, i was one of those people who had internet before 2000.

Some kids a grew up with, in a very small town, found just under $4k in a bag. One of them was a goody two shoes and insisted they hand it in. So they handed it in, and after a year no one claimed it. So it was divided up 6 ways amongst them.
I'm pretty sure karma will favour you in your case.
Well it's not really about karma doing me good... I just really wanted to give it back to her. I know that if it happened to me I would've wanted the person to hand it back.

I remember about 15-20 years ago, I was going for a walk in the area, heading down to the shops. I saw a little card pouches you see from banks... I saw one on the ground and it had the commonwealth bank logo on it. I thought it was just empty rubbish but I picked it up and opened it up. There was a commonwealth bank card in there as well as hundreds of dollars cash. My first instinct was to go to the bank and see what they could do so I can contact the guy.

So I proceeded. Way up ahead in the distance, I saw some guy with his dog back-tracking, running hard and fast... the poor dog was confused and didn't know what the heck was going on. The man was shouting at his dog telling it to run faster and faster as they back-tracked. I immediately knew it was the guy who dropped it. I showed him I had it when it was about 20 metres away so he could calm down. He said thanks and shook my head. Then he turned around and went back up towards the shops as well and I just walked with him for a bit as I was heading in that direction. It turns out he was on his way to real estate agency to pay the rent. It felt good doing that... I enjoyed helping that bloke out.

They would be eaten by me, before the show started.
Netflix Kaz... YOU CHOOSE when the show starts :grinning: Seriously though I like eating chips slowly... just let them soften in my mouth and then eat them.

We paid via card so whatever it was would've been covered. I dare say $0.02 is a round down to $0.00 wouldn't it be?

I was too lazy to sort through my shit before moving house.

My mum and sister ended up finding the couple of DVDs i bought and pretty sure would of thrown them in the trash?

I don't feel like asking "yo mum, sis, where did you store my porn DVDs?"

Ok, now I like to take pride in being a good person (despite some of the sick, twisted shyte you may read on here), and yesterday something happened.

In the past, (and I'm sure this has happened to a few of us) I have gone to Coles and used the self checkout and found some change that hasn't been collected at the unit that was used. I have always picked up the coins and given them to the team member there. Now I don't know what they do with it, hold it for a certain time if someone comes back asking for it, or put it back in the machine, or steal it themselves, but that's something I've done.

Now yesterday, I went to use a unit, and waited for the person in front of me to finish. I went up, scanned my 3 items, and put my cash in. I selected no receipt, and then waited for my change to come out. As I did so, I saw a $20 note sitting there in the dispenser. I thought... this can't be mine, I only put $5 in... and my change came out. So I picked up my change and the $20. I remembered what the lady in front of me looked like so I walked outside hoping to find her in the car park... but she wasn't there. There wasn't even anyone loading/unloading things into their car.

I walked back onto the street and couldn't see her anywhere. I walked around the block to see if she was parked on the street or used the alternate entry into the car park... no luck. What I was going to do was ask her if she could show me the receipt from her purchase to see if the $20 change she should've had was correct. I simply would've told her that some money was left unattended and if her receipt adds up I would've given it to her.

I couldn't see her anywhere however I really wanted to give her the $20 back - it would've been a good deed. I didn't hand it back to the shop either because technically, it wasn't their money, it was hers (most likely).

Did I commit a crime? If so, how?
You are a very good bloke, you tried to find the owner, However to be assured of Heaven you would have to now give the money to charity.
Was sitting outside my bank having a chat with a friend only a few months ago, and an Indian chap went to get some cash then he screwed up a note and put it in my hand and took off, by the time I realized it was $50 I couldn't see him to even say thanks. Felt very guilty have never seen him before or since, I'm pretty sure that I'm better off than him. I give many times that amount to Charity every year.
So I'm now appealing to the Moderators to release Indian Dog from Jail.

Technically, yes. But if they gave it to you for free, then what's stopping everyone going in and only getting one at a time, however many times they like, without actually paying for it? Lol

Id say they would've charged you 5c. They're not that stupid surely?
Depends?
Do wesfarmers also have a board of directors member whose in her mid 40's,worth millions of dollars, no kids and will only get in a relationship with a man if he is worth more money than her?

Oh don't mind me im just replaying a conversation I had with a friend of mine who went on a date with a Woolworths board member!

You'd think not... but then again Coles have a nuts section with varying prices. They trust people enough to pay for the nuts based on what they pick. What if I get a bag and put the most expensive nuts in it but then put the price of the cheapest ones on it?

My mums scumbag ex husband used to get $50 worth of turkey and replace it with a $2 devon sticker.

He always used to alter the price tags and get the most expensive stuff at a black friday price!

I could never cheat like that.
Looking back I wish maybe now I did? Lol

It's amazing how many people get away with stealing at these self-serve checkouts. All they need to do is pay for things and load them back in trolley without using bags... and keep somethings in the trolley without paying for them. I don't do that though.
