What happened to good old arcade games

It seems all the newer xbox one and playstation 4 games require you to spend so much time playing the game, require learning how to control the character, they seem slow to progress.

The old school arcade games were action packed, plenty things happening on screen, button bashing, play in 15-20 mins.. so easy to learn, nice n easy.

Why dont xbox a d playstation make any games in tht style? Arcade?

It seems all their games need a huge investment of time.

Bring back double dragon beat em up, streetfighter, sonic hedgehog etc etc

Emulators. You can get them for free online for arcades and every console ever made. I have them all covered. Still love playing them.

You can still get some arcade style games on the Xbox marketplace and Playstation store.

Street Fighter 2 is still my favourite game of all time, can still play it for hours
I used to be into mortal kombat but I changed to street fighter being my favourite over 10 years ago.

Mortal kombat just seem better because it’s more violent but I think street fighter had better AI?

Such games are still around but I agree in that I prefer games with simple controls.

Doom, Wolf3D .. all those old school classic games with simple controls.

Arrow keys, space to jump, left mouse button to fire.. SIMPLE.

Not requiring half your keyboard in controls, or pressing 400 buttons.

No idea.. ROMS and Emulators are illegal so it's a very grey legal area those guys are playing in.
Heaps of people are selling emulator consoles online.
My friend got one off his girlfriend and not all of them work.

I used to have the same problem when I downloaded them.
It was always hard to find super Mario in the end.

I did buy ghost n goblins for $3 for my iPad.
I finally made it to the second level the other day.

Yeh if I won lotto I would have an arcade room with classic arcade games including a pinball machine. Always wanted my own pinball parlour, since I spent a lot of time in them as a teenager.
