Chinese fans tried every trick in the book to disrupt the team

- hijack the Wanderers training session
- bang on the doors of the rooms the players were staying in between 3am-5am
- "accidentally" crashing the teams bus twice in 2 minutes, they had to get police escort to the stadium.
- beaming the lasers into our players eyes during the game

And after all of that, they made it through to the semi finals :D.

It has been an excellent game. Al-Hilal have definitely been the better team but Covic has been the saviour for the Wanderers.

It helps us that the ref us afraid to blow penalties too.

Brilliant game. Covic will get man of the series.

Terrible response from Al Shirani (sp?) though. Head butt in the box then spat in Sporanovic's face.

The Romanian Al Hilal coach has a big mouth. If his gambling wife bet on the match she would have lost quite a bit.
This is a good result for Australian football and sport in general. A club that's just over 2 years old has won the Asian champions league against clubs with much much bigger budgets.

Wow! Good effort but in my mind a very lucky one. At least three penalties should have been awarded to Al Hilal, player taken out, handball and a foul by the goalkeeper (50/50).In saying that the reaction of the opposition players during and after the match were disgraceful, spitting is a no no; as was the behaviour of some of their supporters with the use of lasers directed at Ante Covic. The 14 Wanderers supporters ( yes a bit of a joke I thought) behaved in an exemplary manner. Tony Popovic has got this team playing some good football and I think some of them may come under scrutiny by overseas clubs. The 85th minute save by Covic was sublime but the Al Hilal side had a mass of shots on goal. Good on Wanderers, a champion effort for a club in its infancy.

Saw the highlights. 3 clear penalties not awarded. Lol
The history books won't say that though, it will say that the Wanderers are champions of Asia in 2014.Big effort from a new club.
Popovic's stocks have risen big time.
