Gus might not he there as yet with the realisation, but his job has got so much harder to recruit any established leaders now...maybe he has realised it and why he is so down.

His aura and reputation as the best league offianado, is being slowly but surely eroded as it has with our "elite" players reputations....this to me is the most worrying aspect of this current mess for our club going forward.

Well, I don't know wtf is going but this to me is a pretty damning stat.

Our starting forwards (excl hookers), had 48 hit ups today. If I include the bench, 69 hitups (and its a stretch incl. Knockonbur).
Raiders starters, 79. Incl the bench, 101.

We had the ball 37 times. Raiders 42 times.

What the fck are our forwards doing on every set? Basically, you get two Raiders forwards every set. Some sets you get 3. With us, not even getting two forwards every set.

And no more excuses about non-availability. This is a common thread every week. Lazy fcks.
it could be a innocent explanation. Because we get dominated, often opponents end up in the red zone or thereabouts. We then look to the centres and wingers to really muscle up and gain that yardage out of there

This is the reality unfortunately.

If as a club we were losing but actually showing something, showing heart. Good players would entertain coming to the dogs, thinking they could make the difference. Players like Tino would have been a genuine chance if he saw a club on the up.

We lack leadership in the club. We have three captains this year. None of them are leaders. Reed & Burton don’t have the captain mentality or personality. RFM has the mentality but isn’t a first grader anymore.

We need to find leadership across the club. To set the standards a winning club needs. We have a young coach that is also struggling to be a leader. We “only” get 36 points put on us and in the presser he is happy with the defence. His values and lack accountability on the reality of what the team puts out every week is a concern.

True. The main reason fans are so concerned and fed up. Fans can't actually see much difference to CC's coaching input than to Baz' coaching input and further to that the team look unmotivated, dispirited and lazy.

They were hopelessly outclassed under Baz but these performances and outcomes look like the team has gone another peg lower again on the rung.

CC needs to get his act together and lead himself and use the roster he does have as effectively as humanly possible. Currently he isn't.

If the fans are doubtful about him: then the players may well be also and that's not conducive to best performances.

CC’s problem is he seems like he has a cookie cutter approach to coaching. He doesn’t coach to the roster. He coaches to the ideal. He coaches the only way he knows how and doesn’t seem to have the ability to pivot and think in other ways. Good coaches coach the individual and together all those individuals become a team.

CC has the whole squad as a team that he wants to play a certain way. The only way he knows. Every player needs different coaching to bring out the best of themselves. CC seems clueless from a man manager point of view.

Exactly right. He is definately struggling to devise a strategy best placed for our team and the players he has.

No coach can wait to show what they can bring by waiting till they have all the players they want that they think will execute their "systems". That could take 3 years to churn out the ones you don't like.

Gus needs to be including CC's coaching in this review he is conducting and locking themselves away for. Otherwise it's a waste of time.

They don't tackle with any force. That is when they tackle at all. Defensive structure is rubbish.

It's a big worry that we have recruited players from good systems in batches over the last 3 years and yet instead of these guys raising our standards, the players in fact lose all their aura and the club breaks them down.

It's happened to about 6 of them now.
Big names on big money and with GF or premiership experience, and they end up on the scrapheap

Just how toxic is our club?

When I think about it, after a downfield kick, we have our FB, 2 wingers and 2 centres often take the first 4 or 5 tackles with maybe only 1 forward getting the ball for a hit-up.

It's only from kick-offs, scrum/taps, or penalties that our forwards might do 3 hitups.

You then have us doing about 4 or 5 nothing hitups inside the 20m.

It's just wrong wrong wrong

Pangai isn't worth his pay packet I agree. But he is only the only forward that makes any decent PCM and doesn't miss tackles. I will take his once a game mistake over the putridness of our other props who miss tackles and get driven back. I think he is capable of playing more minutes than he is being given

At this point it really doesn’t matter what he says - it’s a weak squad about to be pulled apart - I’m sure CC would like to let more go however there are substandard players with contracts for 24 and there are very few better player options available.

We are absolutely shit can’t defend can’t attack predictable attack patterns no effort in tackling piss poor efforts reed tries too hard our forwards have no balls tpg is a idiot with his brain snaps ,burtons defence is horrid Addo Carr looks happy to collect a pay and don’t give a fuck and for some reason we have too many players out of playing out of position and players having a sook they training too hard. Should change our name to the boredogs
in the off-season get the whole squad back mid October and make them tackle until Christmas absolutely flog the Jesus out of them if they can’t handle it show them the door. And instead of having a feelings and culture camp, in preseason go do a army camp and break the lot of them

- Burto probably should keep his mouth shut about players making mistakes, at least until he learns to bloody tackle.
- Since when is conceding 36 points good try line defence?
- Knockonbur must be a crier when he gets criticism, they way he gets smoke blown up his arse all the time
- Looking forward to these "big decisions" Gus reckons are happening this week
