This is not meant to be a whinging about ref’s thread, it’s not a ref bashing or conspiracy theory thread … it’s simply something I wanted to discuss with k members before tonight’s game.
I was filthy after our first game against Manly with Flanagan coping 10 for barely touching Turbo, I don’t know if we go on to win that game or not if he hadn’t been binned, but it definitely heavily turned the momentum in Manly’s favour, 3 try’s while he was off if I remember correctly.
I then voiced my frustration on the K here after the ridiculous Preston sin bin that gave Souths the momentum to go on and put 50 on us.
I mentioned that I thought it was time our club stood up and called out the ref’s or we’d continue to get hammered by them, here we are now the most penalised club this year, plus I think (not 100% sure) that our clubs had the most amount of players binned.
I understand CC’s no blame concept, and I fully understand what he’s trying to do there.
But now that a club has stood up and heavily called the referees out, it’s going to be interesting to watch how this game plays out tonight.
How will the referees respond after the allegations from the Warriors CEO last week, was there allegation of cheating, bias, and that his club is the most disadvantaged by the ref’s in the game, Fittler has recently come out and actually said their CEO could face legal implications over what was said.
The question is, are the referee head honcho’s pissed off about what he said, so they come out and absolutely hammer them, or are they wary about being called out and looking to make them all happy again and give them piggy backs all game.
I don’t know how the Warriors CEO can come out and say they are the most disadvantaged club by the referees when we’re the most penalised club in the comp, plus they were recently gifted 2 points the last game against us with that ridiculous try thats been a no try because of obstruction in every game since then, and every game before that call.
If we get micro ref’d tonight and Warrior get all the favours, or we have players binned and they don’t, someone at the club needs to stand up and ask some serious questions.
I feel it’s a tricky situation for the referees tonight after being called out, how do you see it playing out ?
