Roosters need middle forwards and want to play Manu at 6 permanently.

We need a halfback more than anything.

They are both on about the same per year.

Yes Keary has been injury prone lately but Keary for a year or 2 helps our team more than LT.

This is only if we can’t get rid of LT without having to pay his salary.

can't see Roosters picking up Thompson for anywhere near his salary, plus they wouldn't have to because we'd want him gone even if we have to contribute a decent amount imo.

this is why exactly why we should play the bye rounds, we have a false leader who has trades, not fair imo

He only has 1 year left under contract. Keary has 2. It would help their salary cap situation.

I'd be very reluctant to invest that much cap space for another 2 years for Keary who is 30, coming off a torn acl and has struggled massively with repeated concussions.. He's a good player who would improve us a lot but it'd be a huge risk for those reasons.

If we need to let Luke Thompson go, it is only because of his salary package.
The more sensible thing we need to do, is to recruit some front row forwards,
so Luke can play his best position, which is in the back row.

I don't think Keary would
Compliment Burton. I think it's been clear that he isn't a number 7. Roosters have actually looked better this year without him, and you could say he wasn't missed last year either.

Remember the last time we signed a half with injury concerns for big money?
Our no 1 priority has to be securing Burton long term and this doesn’t help us at all. I’d also like to see how Thompson goes under Potter before tge club tries to offload him

I wouldn't be rushing to offload Thompson. He has got a lot more than we have seen so far, and Mick Potter might be the man to unlock his potential. He made his name in Super League following up Alex Walmsley's breaks and capitalizing on the offloads that came his way. TPJ plays a similar style to Walmsley, but better at it (no disrespect to Walmsley , who is a fine player, just not a Pangai).

Dumb bad decision letting Vaughan go, and keeping a plodder in Thompson, Not a good front rower or Lock, wouldn't have him anywhere near 2nd row. Kukau a nd RFM.
Vaughan has been close to our best forward all year, I still cannot believe not one NRL club picked him up for next year and he's going to England.
