The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs can confirm that prop forward Tevita Pangai Junior has made the decision to retire from professional rugby league at the end of the 2023 season.
Tevita informed the Club and teammates of his decision at Belmore Sports Ground today, stating he would like to focus on family and pursue other options.
The 27-year-old vowed to remain committed to the team for the final three Rounds and will officially retire at the conclusion of the Round 27 match.
As he aims to stay focused on the remaining matches, Tevita will not be commenting on his decision to retire but would like to extend his thanks to the Bulldogs and his fans for all the support he has received.
The Bulldogs are supportive of his decision and thank him for his service to the Blue and White:
"We would like to thank Tevita for his contribution to the Club," said
Bulldogs General Manager of Football, Phil Gould.
"He has been a valuable member of the team and will remain to be so during these final few Rounds.
"We are well aware of his talent as an athlete and are fully supportive of his decision to pursue another sport at the Season's end. We wish him and his family all the best for the future.
"Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.
