Daryl Halligan or Montoya should be there lol.
A few more than 6 actually.... but Bott was pretty quick. Quicker than your wit...Took 6 replies for some idiot to start talking Bott but whatever
LOLLLLL when TF did I ever point out that the current crop of players we have would be the quickest ... @Nasheed leave me out of your schemes for the love of god lolNasheed here,
Sitting up here all night posting doing speed has made me think about speed in general about the bulldogs.
ive always been attracted to the fast players. Strangely, the dogs have had a notoriously slow roster for as long as I remember. As @2144superman keeps pointing out, the current dogs lineup could well be the quickest. Although I'd argue 2018 was because of Rhyse martins presence, officially the fastest second rower in 20-9, a season that he didn't complete.
I want to be clear about a rule. They just have played 10 first grade games for the dogs. 10! I don't want it to devolve like some of my other posts where niggas ain't reading the rules and this thread is bombarded with 'LeoN BoTt tHE FaStESt EvER' even though he never made it to first grade.
here's mine anyway.
1. Brett 'the snippet' Howland. I don't think anyone would seriously disagree with this one. He was a fast guy who played at a fast time in the NRL. When we had quality athletes in the comp before they all bulked up like the black pornstar guy on WhatsApp (circa 2006). Howland was considered the second fastest player in a comp with Darren Albert, Rhys Wesser,Eric Grothe. All guys who ran sub 11. Id guesstimate snippet was about a 10.6 hundred guy, and Albert around 10.4 (actually a massive difference at those speeds). Rhys apparently 10.6 as well but I think Howland has him. Either way, he's #1 for this thread.
2. Reimis 'uncle' Smith
Just the fact his name pops up as a possibility of being the fastest atm gott make him fast. I would guesstimate he's an 11 flat guy. Hard to see him in full stride but yeah
3. nick Meaney
Meant to be faster than Reimis. How's that work? Maybe he should be 2.
4. Josh Morris
Slow off the mark, but I promise you this nice guy was built for speeed. He and his little Brother had almost the perfect natural build for sprinting. Super long legs and twitch fibres. He would mow down anyone in space so much so that Jim's mowing blushed. Even Jennings with a 20 m head start. If not for sluggish start off the mark I would say he would be number 1 with acceleration. Probably the quickest on the list 50-100 in a 100m race. 11.2 my guess.
5. rod silva.
We all know him. Fast but not lightning but still very fast. Probably an 11.4 guy.
special mentions;
Brett Morris (remember we got him at 32 years old) Damien Ford, Ben Barba, arana taumata, JMK, Jason Williams, Nigel Vagana, Josh Reynolds, Jamal lolesi, Kerrod Holland, Rhyse Martin, Makasini richter.
nasheed.
No way he was close to our top 5. You're only one of two people that think so. He just has agility.Fucking barba , how can he not be the first pick!
I didn't. He was my original number 4, even wrote a big blurb about him being a beach sprint champ, tenn I replaced him with Morris after I found out he only played 7 games for us.Y'all forgot about Cook?
Yup but with agility comes elusiveness, then his slight of foot comes speed, he was one of the best at that.. which means weather he was our quickest or not, for mine he was in that aspect, and it’s just my opinion. No right or wrong here bud, we just see it differently..!!!No way he was close to our top 5. You're only one of two people that think so. He just has agility.
What you are describing is what Gould (Phil Gould-Commentator) has coined 'football speed'. Which is really just agility and acceleration.Yup but with agility comes elusiveness, then his slight of foot comes speed, he was one of the best at that.. which means weather he was our quickest or not, for mine he was in that aspect, and it’s just my opinion. Cook was quick yes, who said he wasn’t? You asked our thoughts. I gave mine lol, end of Nasheed here!!What you are describing is what Gould (Phil Gould-Commentator) has coined 'football speed'. Which is really just agility and acceleration.
In Gould's argument, Billy Slater was the fastest football fast footballer we have ever seen. The logic was that Slater had an amazing ability to hit top speed almost instantly and sidestep without losing any speed. And he's right.
However, speed addicts like me will note that beyond that, Slater was surpassingly slow. People ran around him often, chased him down etc. Probably no faster than Cody Walker.
if Josh Morris took an intercept with a 5 m head start, Slater wouldn't get close.
barba had good football speed too. So does Cook. I have a feeling that cool potentially has football speed and normal speed, and that's why he's a dangerous 'cookie'.
Cookie is actually my nickname for Damien Cook if you are confused.
