If we had creative ball playing halves Des would give him clear instructions to tuck the ball under and just run all game. He and all our other forwards have to compensate for our deficit.

I wish we'd use him as a tight forward similar to Taumulolo's shift to lock. Just give him the ball with a run up and tell him to **** up the defensive line. Even if he could only do it for 40 minutes a match I feel he'd do more good there than 80 minutes on the edge.

TRex does better standing deeper, playing on the right.

Our team doesn't play a deep game though.

Why is it so hard for this guy to be a bonafide star? How is he not just destroying everyone? I honestly don't get it. He has all the tools, pace, power and he is relatively good with the ball in hand considering his size. There's not a lot of figuring out to do with him, get him running onto the ball hard and fast on an angle every single time and he would be ridiculously hard to stop. It's such a basic thing at this level.
Absolutely right Book. Maybe because it's so obvious and so simple Demon Des the Master of Mindgames just can't see it.

Except that they are down on any other forward with similar minutes who are not rumoured to be on 500K!
Compare the tackle count with Jackson, Tolman, JG - simple as that.
The guys work-rate is no-where near theirs.

Took a thumbs down over Tony.
Boo hoo.

I am curious to know in which game he made 28 meters in 64 minutes?

In my opinion he is playing very well this year, a few little mistakes here and there but overall he is running harder and doing pretty well

I think he's doing fine (and commentators last night did too).

He almost plays the role of a halves player in a giants frame these days. He has some nice touches with his kicks, and always takes a few guys with him.

Why is he not as damaging? Simple! He's being marked much more heavily these days.
i think he's playing well enough to get an origin spot off the bench.

At Manly T-Rex was mainly used off the bench as an impact player. Since coming to the dogs apart from a few games off the bench in his first year he has been playing as a starting forward. For me he doesn't do enough in either attack or defense in the first 20-30 mins. He should be taking more hit-ups and not leaving the hard work to guys like Tolman, JG or Jackson.

I would leave him on the bench and have him come on after 25-30 with directions to run on the edges.

I'm like some of you guys not really concern if he stays or goes after his contract finishes. I always give him the benefit of the doubt and he has improved especially after his first season 2013.But that was hard consider he played like crap that year.

For mine he just seems to be going through the motions, doesn't seem to have any passion playing in the blue and white, no emotion displayed especially when he scores or assists. Maybe that's his persona on the field or maybe he is strongly focused on doing his job. Don't know.

He usually makes the same amount of hitups as jackson does...and no i don't think he should be making as many hitups as a middle forward in Tolman or Graham.

The point I was trying to make was that in first 20-25 mins he doesn't seem to get involved as much as I would like a starting forward to .

Granted I wouldn't expect him to make 20-25 hits up like Tol and JG overall but a few more would do especially when he has the ability to bend the line like he does.

Bar the souths game, i think hes been up there with our best this year. It seems everyone on here isnt happy because hes not bumping 3 players off every run, he's not setting up tries every run, hes not scorinf every run. He's playing well this year, well enough to maybe earn a spot on the bench for NSW. Every game now he has at least 3 guys in his face when he hits it up, but 9/10 times he will bump off the first tackler.

He been going well we really need him this week against tigers if he gets good service at isolated defenders by which I mean Brooks and Moses he could be in for a massive game
