Time for 5 min sin bins?

It's getting ridiculous how good entertaining contests are ruined and turned into blow outs because the ref decides to send someone to the bin for minor infringements or accidental contact to the head. The Titans were the better team for most of the game and we're still in the contest when the Ref decided to send Tino to the bin. 10mins with 12 men in the late stage of matches when players are tired is just too much, just cut it to 5 mins.

Yeah agree. But the issue will be what do you determine a 5 min bin, a 10 min bin, and a send off? Knowing the clowns at the NRL it won’t work. This year the refs have been especially horribly inconsistent.

Yeah it’s interesting. I would say foul play still 10 mins but the offside, ruck infringements etc 5 mins.

It sounds so simple. But I could just imagine it in our game. A player does a ruck Infringement and gets sent off.

.. the ref likes so much control! and wants the game to be about his power, he can’t put the fucking whistle down an gives piggy backs for good field yardage. One way or the other!! The way this game is ruled now is disgusting. All these minor non intent calls. Can’t be invisible in a contact sport. Half the players are sin binned, never been more rules to encourage scoring and yet points are down. Current NRL players aren’t footballers , just athletes and it’s getting worse

They would still balls it up and use it even more because they would see it as only 5 minutes.
I think it should stay as 10min but as soon as a try gets scored the player comes straight back on. So only one try can be conceded.

It the main reason for the bin being used this year is the hip drop tackle that is the biggest blight on the game currently. 9 out of 10 tackles called a hip drop are just tackles gone wrong with no intention. Most of which are greatly contributed to by the attacking player fighting to get away. They happened forever and it’s never even been a penalty in the past.

also sending off a player but allowing him to be replaced? I don’t understand why a team should play down a man because 1 player breaks the rules?
The AFL does this better. They don’t send players off because the contest sacrosanct.

Definitely need to urgently review the shitshow that presents atm.
Clubs you would think are or should be pounding on the NRL's door to come to some compromise before this bullshit costs team a premiership(or chance to play in the finals etc).

*All these hip drops I'd suggest aren't deliberate i could be wrong on some but the vast majority are incidental/unlucky I reckon.

This is the problem with the NRLol we’re making new rules to cover for the incompetence.

Unless you go after the root issue the Band-Aid fixes won’t work.

The root issue is the ref boss Analsey, they need someone competent. 2nd issue is the Bunker should only rule in try scoring situations. Simplify the game and reduce ref involvement as much as possible.
