Just hope the young talent coming thru doesn’t get pissed off and frustrated by lack of opportunity and ciraldos preference for sticking with plodders.
Is Taaffe > papa ??
Hutchinson > oneill ??
Poasa > Hughes ??

The players you named are stop gap solutions until the younger boys are ready. Hughes needs minutes not sitting behind anyone with the state of out forward pack he will always have a spot, 25 is realistic goal for Papa his on the right trajectory for FG and there’s bigger concerns than FB we should be looking for on the market. No need to rush the youngsters every minute they get is gold in Reggie’s if there’s anything to learn from the previous years you can’t rush them.

Everyone knows the Bulldogs are weak at 7 and in the middle forwards. CC has chosen a big body, slow, predictable 7 to compensate for the middle forwards, yet picks a predictable ball playing 13 who lacks go forward, Salmon is meant to compensate for the deficiencies at 7. Since the halves are so weak I would have Salmon at 14. If Patolo, Sutton, Fifita or Knight come in, then Curran should start at 13, interchanging with either Morrin or Edwards.

Whatever it is that went wrong last season, our Cup team was on top of things and then had a complete meltdown. That means the core group of players at that level aren't ready yet. We need for them to prove that whatever it is that unsettled them is no longer an issue and that they've gotten better at riding the waves when they happen.

There was no "core group of players" in NSW Cup last season, we used 36 players in NRL games and they mostly came from the NSW Cup team. As a result the "core group" weren't together for more than a few games at time. Obviously when you need to replace injured NRL players you utilise the better players from NSW Cup, and Jersey Flegg we were so short of players. From the outside it looks like the decision was taken to move the Jersey Flegg boys back to that team and sacrifice the NSW Cup Team. A hugely disrupted season, hopefully not to be repeated.

How old is Joseph O'Neill and Mitchell Woods?

How many more years do we have to wait for a decent halfback to play first grade.

It’s so obvious we need middles but we also very obviously can’t buy any decent ones. It’s sad times when a power house club like ours can’t attract good props.

Issues are obvious.

Our halves are not halves. And the one half we do have (Sexton) is not an NRL level half. Burton and Hutchinson are both centres.

Our team is unbalanced, we have a plethora or centres and no halves or middle forwards other than King, and he is just a worker.

Our coach is out of his depth, and every player regresses the longer they play for us.

Having no go forward is going to wear on us hard as the season progresses

With the exception of Curran, the Dogs were really missing an aggressive forward or two out there. Completely physically dominated and out enthused from the start
CC benched our best trial forward Curran
