The Bulldogs have a bye prior to Origin 1 and then will sit out the round after Origin 2 in a draw which has been relatively kind to the club in the grand scheme of things.

They will be forced to play without Origin players prior to Game 2 (Sharks) and Game 3 (Rabbitohs), while they back up against the Roosters after Game 1 on Sunday afternoon and the Broncos at home on Saturday afternoon after Game 3.

The Roosters and Broncos are both difficult sides, but will both have questions about players backing up themselves, while Cronulla and the Rabbitohs will be missing star troops.

Compared to most teams, we don’t seem to have it too bad. Would be terrific if we can take down both the roosters and rabbits

Our next 3 games will decide our fate this year. If we can win 2 of 3 into the next bye we will be going well

Seems like a decent run. However Sharks are better off than we are in our game. Hynes is covered by Trindall who has already proven himself a quality FG 7.
Whereas we will likely need to cover TPJ and Fox.

We should have more middles back then. And fox is a great player, but he is still a winger.

Win or lose, TPJ would have to get MOTM at SOO to keep his spot. So we will likely get him back.
Agree, so unbelievable he’s selected. Reminds me of when Mybe got chosen to play for Qld.

I think TPJ will only play the one game, then the gig will be up for him - just like Captain Mbye

Not just a winger, team has more energy and belief when he is on the field. He has played 6 games this year for 4 wins, without him we have won 1 game from 6. Someone needs to recognise it and become much more vocal when Fox isn't there. It may not be natural for him but Burton needs to be talking more, especially with Fox not there. I am sure that CC has been in his ear about it but to keep the momentum going we need to take advantage of this period.

Its a shame we had anyone selected really from a club perspective

Unless there are injuries or suspensions ( I’m looking at you TPJ), I think Fox will come back fitter, and hopefully TPJ will raise his game and keep it high when he returns

Na after Brandy had that crack about us killing players rep careers it's good we got a couple selected. Helps with recruitment, vibe within the dressing room. I think JAC for one would have been down if not selected. JAC should hopefully be able to back up and TPJ will likely only play 20 to 30 min so should be right.

Would’ve love to have seen Burton left centre next to JAC would be the best pairing in the comp bar Latrell and JAC imo

Gus doesn't like them calling TPJ the enforcer. Ripped into the media duds.

He wants him to start rather than off the bench. IIRC he said give him the first 20 then see if you need him later in the game.

Agreed but atleast future prospects know there is still a chance that our club produces origin players so it's not all doom and gloom.
