How did Donny go? Good to see he finally got a start
IMO didn't show enough and it's blatantly obvious why he doesn't start before Bruno, Fred and McTominay.

I'm not saying Fred and McTominay are excellent or great, they need replacing too but the assigned duties for each player, they do better than DVB.

DVB just doesn't fit into this team as anything more than a backup squad option.

Ralph Ragnick will be your next coach in an interim position.
He has a good reputation in Germany but has never really coached a big club before even though he’s 63 .
That’s not to say he won’t succeed or has nothing to offer.

That appointment seems a bit out of the blue. Does anyone know much about him? Obviously it's only on an interim basis for now but you'd think they'd get someone with Premier League experience for an interim manager.

Agree.
Just another example of their management having no idea or long term plan. The guy has good reputation in Germany and Klopp and Tuchel speak only good words about him but he doesn’t really have any pedigree coaching a big club, even in Germany .
They don’t have the luxury of Europa league football and the chance of winning it to play CL football next season.
To play CL football next season they will have to either win this years CL which won’t be happening or finish in the top 4 which is far from a given at this stage.

Yeah qualifying for the CL is their main goal now. And it's still somewhat achievable. It will be interesting to see how they go with Ragnick.

A footballer philosopher, he demands a lot of power at a club and that’s been the main reason he hasn’t coached one of the super clubs.

He rejected Chelsea before Tuchel and Spurs before Nuno. Chelsea wanted him on a shorter contract and he publicily turned it down saying he didn’t want to be seen as a short term option. At Spurs he didn’t want to relinquish power to Levy and their DOF.

He took Hoffenhiem from the Bundesliga third division up to the first division and even had them top of the league for half the season in his first or second year in the league , before slowly falling due to injuries and insufficient squad depth.

He then turned Schalke into a side that consistently challenged for champions league spots and become one of the best clubs in Europe for producing talent.

He was the main man behind taking RB Leipzig up the German divisions and into the champions league as well.

His teams are about quick vertical play, and his teams are relentless pressing sides, similar to Liverpool.

It’s a very good move for the club, he is known for modernizing clubs and it’s exactly what we need at the moment. He is going to be the de facto director of football after this season.

Arguably the best move the club has made since Fergie.

Having a football director at least gives us a chance of getting it right.

There is still 26 games to go, anything can happen. Injuries and form can drastically change for any of the sides competing in the top 6. At this point last season, Liverpool were flying, then United were top for a couple of months and then City stormed through and won the league.
