Barca get a consolation and right from the kickoff, Januzaj scores the 3rd goal and restores the 2 goal lead

FT: Manchester United 3 - Barcelona 1

Good solid display, attack was fluid although the defense could do with some improvements

Barca a bit unlucky seeing as they did hit the post 3 times

Bring on PSG, finish the tour off strongly with no injuries and lets hit the ground running against the Spurs in the season opener, need a strong start to the new season once it's underway otherwise we'll be playing catchup like we did last season and that wasn't good enough

Haha, surely this is an indirect tweet at Wenger from the Man United Twitter team..

@ManUtd: Seven of the 11 players who finished the game, including both second-half scorers, came through United's youth teams.

Shots fired, shots fired!

Di Maria misses flight to join team in USA
So did Rojo

Rojo had passport issues so he couldn't board the plane and Di Maria supposedly didn't want to leave his mate behind.. weak excuse, Di Maria should have boarded that flight regardless because it was a club order

Something I observed during the 2nd half, Wilson was deployed out on left wing utilising his speed in behind the defense and Januzaj was deployed as our striker

Januzaj is a bit of a weird case, played as a no 10 through the youth setup but got his first team chance as a winger and now LvG is trying him as a striker

Not that playing Januzaj as a striker is a unfamilar role for him, Januzaj has played the odd game or two as a striker in the U21 but wasn't seen as a long term option so it'd be interesting to see how he's used this season because it's really a make or break season for him

One thing I know for certain is, we aren't going to sell Di Maria just for the sake of it or because he had an underwhelming debut season

He'll only be allowed to leave if he hands in a transfer request, which will be made public, waiving the rights to any payments the club may owe him

If Di Maria truly no longer wants to play for the club, then sell him and give the #7 to somebody worthy.. I'm thinking of either Schweinsteiger because that he's German national team squad number or give it to Depay because I believe he's destined for greatness

How does the if he hands in a transfer work? We make it public and he doesn't get paid

If Di Maria is forced to hand in a transfer request, the club can simply brief the media thus making it public and it also paints the club in a better picture, won't make the club look weak by simply selling a marquee signing

Guess how the English press got word of the Pedro rumour? The club briefed the press and placed an embargo on when the story could be run

Under Moyes, the club gave regular updates to the press because Moyes wanted to seem like he was actively searching for signings in the transfer window and so easing the pressure off himself

A transfer request is a last resort, a player can verbally say he wants to leave but it's not until that it's written on a piece of paper and handed to the club that it's officially a transfer request and that waives any payments the club may owe the player so either signing on fee, loyalty bonus or other bonuses inserted into the contract

When we signed Fellaini, he had to physically go and drive to Everton's office to hand in a written transfer request in the middle of the night to force the transfer through and Everton only allowed it once it meant they were waived of paying him any money owing

Of course the club can always reject a transfer request and force the player to see out his contract

Looks like Ramos was just using us as leverage for more $$$ ... Didn't think we were actually going to get him but either way #HalaWoodward

never thought we'd get him...but i think we used him more than he used us...
we were never gona lose DDG this summer without something big in return....
at least we have time to convince him 2 stay now or time to find a suitable replacement
we still need a CB for this season though...so im hoping we didnt waste 2 much time on actually thinking we'd get Ramos and now we miss Otamendi because that has gone really quiet!
hoping for another striker too...but not sure if that will happen

Romelo Lukaku has been tossed around this morning but think it has to do with something DEPAY tweeted lol.

Lukauku is good mates with Depay...other than that...no real source to say he is available nor that we are chasing him...
plus he came off with an injured Hamstring in Evertons latest friendly....
would love marco reus...but he seems very loyal to dortmund!
