I think there will be a run of commonwealth countries going republic over the next few years, Australia being one of them. I think most Aussies these days couldn't give a flying faark about the royals or the UK in general.

I actually like the idea of having someone that can come in when pollies get out of hand and say - you're a dick. You're out and voters - off you go to the polls. Only happening once in 120 years is pretty good I think. And if that power gets too bonkers, we can go republic anyways. Its not like the poms are ever invading or that shit.
