My understanding about Wenger's contract renewal was that the club had assurances from Wenger that he would sign a new contract however rumours were that if Arsenal lost the FA Cup final then he would leave and if Arsenal won the FA Cup then he would put pen to paper

In the end, Arsenal defeated Hull City and Wenger finally committed to signing the new contract tabled by the club

So while he broke the trophy drought, that meant Wenger would commit to a further 3 years so make of it what you will

Yep exactly. Teams defending against us are playing with 2 straight lines of back 4s. We need to find a way to break them down. The goal area is far too crowded.

And results from the weekend definately helped us, with the top sides dropping points. Perhaps we can sneak in a top 4 trophy somehow.
