Has anyone else had bad experiences with this lately?

I have been waiting 14wks for my son's passport and we are due to fly out in 6 days. Needless to say, stress levels are increasing.

I have done everything imaginable, constant phone calls and emails to local MP, Penny Wong and Albanese's office. I'm off to the passport office in Brisbane this week.

Ouch. Nah, I have two passports that still have about 4 years on each. But I have heard it's bad. Many people are complaining about long delays right now.

Nah I didn't pay for express as thought lodging it in May was good enough. Hindsight is a bastard

Only time I have been to Vegas is with my wife. Fortunately she was pretty jetlagged so I still spend most of the time without her.

There’s the problem. If you said you were a gay illegal immigrant unable to work because you have a phobia of papercuts you would’ve had the passports the next day with a nice bank payment too but in all seriousness I’d definitely go in there. It sounds like the lines are a lot better and kids passports seem to cause the most delays. All the best with it

Apparently massive shit fight aus wide as x amount of passports expire per year and no one really renewed during covid. And now the rush is on.

There’s the problem. If you said you were a gay illegal immigrant unable to work because you have a phobia of papercuts you would’ve had the passports the next day with a nice bank payment too but in all seriousness I’d definitely go in there. It's on the strip, not to far from the massive CVS pharmacy IIRC.

In & out is dog food compared to Fatburger.

Just checked locations, they have one at the Venetian and Excalibur casinos.

Have you considered going to the passport office to plead your case?

Appreciate it would be a pain to the arse. My office is very closest the Brisbane passport office and its going gangbusters there every yime I will past.

Found generally when dealing with bureaucracy, in person gets things done more quickly (if possible).

Best thing you can do now is log a call with customer contact centre on 13 76 78.
Doing this creates an online case on a program called MyNetwork. This case is then assigned to the network/facility that last scanned/accepted the article for processing.

In my experience passports generally originate in VIC and are transferred to Sydney West Letters Facitily for processing. I'm not certain of the facilty that receives them in Brisbane, or if they have to go to SWLF first before arriving in QLD.

It is a site managers duty to answer these cases promptly once assigned or they escalate.

The customer care team should keep you updated on mangers responses throughout the case.

You can also request the option to collect the article from the facility it is located at, should that option be easier for you.
