Interesting thing about this story is that it's not Biblically accurate. The whole thing about them looking for an Inn and ending up in a stable is basically a Hallmark story that built up over time. The original Biblical text was pretty vague but hinted that while Jesus was technically born in a manger (animal trough), he wasn't born in a stable and they weren't rejected from Inns. The hint is that it was the house of relatives of Joseph and the whole issue was that the house was overloaded with people at the time, so Jesus was basically born in the loungeroom. But at the time, people shared the common area with animals because they didn't want animals to freeze to death and they couldn't afford to build stables purely for animals.
Including the actual time of Christ’s birth..it may have been ‘moved’ to tie in with pagan festivals such as the Winter Solstice and Satunalia a Roman festival celebrating the deity Saturn.. Duly King Herod..who was the King when Jesus was born..whose reign was sometime between 6 B.c.e. and 4 B.c.e Also it’s speculated that the Star of Bethlehem might have been Venus and Jupiter coming to form a bright light in the sky which actually occurred in June of 2 B.c.e . or a similar occurrence in October of 7 B.c.e. with Saturn a Jupiter..Interesting thing about this story is that it's not Biblically accurate.
