Unfortunately it shows we have a very weak team. Doesn't matter who you pick

I'd be running with a team very close to the one that played Raiders at magic round.

Hughes, Pele, throw in Skelton for some yardage out the back - Kiraz goes to centre. Avo to FB for a bit of x-factor. KO starts at 5/8 and find a spot for Morrin, with maybe RFM off the bench.

KO is trash and shouldn't see first grade again this year

Rajab needs to get on the juice, chicken and pork and work on his defence in NSW Cup

Perham needs a spell in NSW Cup

Flanagan and Reed need to be the two hookers

King needs a root

Okunbor needs a haircut

Ciraldo needs a long ice bath

Gus needs to fuck off from Twitter

I'd bring in Wilson to 1. Need to see what he has. Same with Rajab in the halves. If they aren't good enough this season we can move on from them in 2024.

Averillo moves to left centre to matchup with Gagai. Both are fast & we should be attacking that side.

Flanagan starts for the first 30 minutes before Mahoney comes on for the last 50 minutes. Mahoney shouldn't be playing 80 minutes.

Preston starts on the left edge but after 20-30 minutes moves to lock & Morrin plays left edge. Preston is our best defender so he needs to be in the middle when our other forwards are getting tired.

KO & Alamoti need a few weeks in NSW Cup to get their confidence back & remember how it feels to win a game. They're still only 18 or 19 so no rush with them.

Doesn’t matter who we trot out, watch us play dumb panic football and lose to a team we should beat.

We’ll do our usual thing, play shit teams into form. Ponga will have a field day against our shirt grabbers, out dom going down for a hatty now.

We’re basically shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic while the boat is already underwater.

not bad wilson definitely needs to be fb

Perham needs to be dropped. Okunbur should never play FG again. Waddell should never play for the club again. Mahoney can't play 80 minutes. Oloapu and Alamoti need time in Reserves to work on things and hopefully come back stronger later in the year.

Would playing Oloapu and Alamoti in Flegg this week be of any value - maybe instill some confidence and give them an opportunity to actually play football.

Ivan Lendl had a theory of coaching developing junior tennis players - play tournaments they should dominate as well as ones where they get dominated - theoretically to instill in the player a sense of reality and perspective and to develop different aspects of their game. No good being beaten all the time and no good having it too easy. Neither had had to spend much time earning their spots in fg.

I'd be keen to throw Oluapou in at Centre. I think his speed and step will be better suited on the edges. Its too much to expect a kid to steer around a struggling NRL team. Was blooded too early. Playing centre will allow him a lesser role of setting plays up (which has never been his game). Or send him back to reserve grade. Kid has a future in the halves but not yet and not in this team (no go forward at all).

Averillo is a worry at fullback only because he isnt the type to be a metereater and running for 150m+. He'll have his games where he runs 80m which when we lack grunt in the middle is an issue.

Averillo is ok at centre. He can score a try when in space. He will go missing some games and have ripper other games. But thats his game.

Hughes id bring straight in. Tanner (not sure if he is injured at the moment) Id bring in for a bit of an engine room upgrade. I have always been a Topine fan but for some reason he doesnt get many chances. He is the best in NSW cup year after year but never gets his chance in NRL. Fair enough he is a smaller body and probably would bounce of tackles a fair bit.... But we arent a finals bound team, and alteast he will play with heart much like morrin.
