Looks like the same team for this week except for one forced change with Tracy replacing the Fox. But I suspect Tracy will go to centre and Kiraz on the wing. Tracy went alright in the centres for the Sharks. I would have liked to have seen another agressive forwrd on the bench like Kautoga or Tetevano.

I think Taaffe should get another crack at fullback as sacking him after one game seems unfair. You could make a case to sack half the team if thats the case. But I cannot see why we can't swap players if we struggle as thats our advantage with utilities.

We could swap say Tracy with Taafee or put Taaffe at half or Critta at fullback and Hutch in the centres. We have lots of options if things don't go well so we can mix it up and try different combos during the game.

But I am not too worried about our backs except maybe half. But its the forwards we need to bolster as they will make the backs look good no matter what combos.

I would give Wilson a go at fullback I believe that was his original position when he came to the club, and I would have Crighton & Xerri in the centers and Kirras and Skelton on the wings with Burton & Sexton in the halves, Wilson may have dropped 4 balls in game one but he showed ability last year when he defused many bombs for Perham I think he can catch and he is not afraid to put his body on the line he has plenty of speed and good footwork and can read a game pretty well, I think he could chime in pretty well in attack and he is pretty fast when in open space plus he is a good height which will help when jumping to catch a high ball, and plenty of speed to run it back, I saw high lights of him on you tube playing Fullback/ Winger. and he was very impressive. I have included the YouTube link below to show what he is capable of.
Blake Wilson Highlights 2022 - Sunshine Coast Falcons (youtube.com)
Wilson does look strong and quick. Best with a bit of room. Why not, we seem to be trying every player except specialist fullbacks. Wilson would have to be one of our only specialist fullbacks.

He does look good all be it playing against a lower standard in that clip. Also seemed to be mostly playing on the wing or am I wrong? Either way, I'm a fan and he will go well. Still think Tracey should be given a crack at fb if Taafe continues with current form.

Disappointing result against Eels. A few things were missing. The main thing that was missing was the absence of a game plan.
This is NRL. You just don't go into a contest of any description without a plan. Somehow we do.

It’s obvious Burton is not a half, give him a go at fullback. It will give him a chance to showcase his running game.

Why are we not chasing Francis Molo? apparently off contract this year and not re-signed by Dragons.. again Sluggish effort by the recruitment team.. hes worth 500-600k a year on a 3 year deal...

Stuff selections it's just about winning this week no matter what. Sharks are not the best team and going to get beat plenty this year. May as well be this week

How do you know we aren't chasing Molo? Do you want it shouted from the rafters, plastered all over social media, the headline on NRL 360 or perhaps a daily podcast from the recruitment team on who they are talking to today?

He's pretty average to be fair.

He was playing fullback in the highlights when younger it looks like. He seemed fairly big and strong compared to the other players so he may have had a bit of an advantage.

He is fairly strong and has some size but also agile enough to do those side steps and weaves as seen in the trial. Or break tackles. I think he's one we should keep and lock down as I can see him becoming a regular. Not the same hype as other signings but I think has the potential to be as good.

Yeah maybe give critta a go at fullback. It seems that was what all the talk was when he was coming. He's played in the halves so he has more skills than playing centre and like Locky and Munster these players can adapt to where ever they play.

But I do think Taaffe probably has the most experience of our recruits at fullback and can be pretty solid when given the chance, He was great in NSW cup captaining Souths to a GF win. He may just need time and confidence to bring that form up to the top grade.

Let's hope the team picked win against the Fish !
Hypothetically speaking what if the team performs the same way as the last game and lose, who would you select then ?

The fish are very beatable this week.
Got a good feeling it's going to be something like a 36-10 victory. Complete sets, long kicks to turn their big guys around and tire them out.
Won't happen with the last tackle mid field bomb game plan though.

The mid field bomb game plan has become so predictable it’s not funny.
I suspect the reason we use it so much is that our forwards don’t make enough metres upfield to put in a more attacking kick.
We don’t get repeat sets like other teams do to us.
Hence why we need Skelton and Xerri to complement our small forward pack and make more metres.
Wilson is a great player but being selected and used to hit up that’s just insane or dumb.
