I like the idea of trying someone fresh in the centres Scoup or Tass could be great and totally agree Averilo definitely as a half, as that is where he played in his juniors and was very good there, we need to persist with them. Unfortunately Tols is way past it or is carrying an injury

I would persist with the following team until next year.

1. Meaney
2. Smith
3. Schoup / Tass - need to give one of these kids a go they have speed and skill
4. Montoya - had a solid game . the pass from Lewis was terrible Hoppa - when he comes back.
5. Dwz
6. Foran. if he is fit??
7. Averilo
8. Toomaga - let him use his offload skills for 2nd phase, our current middles are so predictable and lazy.
9. JMK
10. Thompson - would give us much more energy with our starts.
11. RFM
12. CHN - if he stays
13. Jackson
14. Cogger - could be better as a replacement at 9
15. Napa
16. Ogden
17. C Smith

c Sith forgot about him good idea as can cover back row or center if required. Only idea I don’t think is a way forward is Cogger as we can’t carry all the halves. I’d like to see him persistent as a 9 but needs a full year in reserve to learn the craft. Then yes think he would make it. And be a gooden
Tolman I agree he’s unfortunately past it. But we have him this year so should utilise him as a starter make a lot tackles. But keep out the way on 4 tackle Shame as seems a good club man

I'm 71, but played a few seasons of junior Rugby League, then went to the dark side, and played Aussie Rules. I can still run, and I can kick a ball into touch from a penalty- so I'll put my hand up. Can't do any worse; and I could use a couple of hundred grand a year, now that my tour guiding job is on ice.

For a million, I'll be the fitness coach - if they can outrun me, and do more than 20 pushups, they're in the side.

I don’t know the financial side things. But. I’d be looking at returning to Belmore while crowds are restricted. Feel after yesterday game the team was more aggressive in d and attack stretched them. This will give a bit pride and history in club just a thought as can see other grounds have facilities not at Belmore and parking. But gives club a boost if we snag a win

Not Wakem, he is no better than Lewis, Either get someone to do some video training with Lewis and point out his mistakes and try give the kid some coaching or use Cogger, but as bad as Lewis is at least we have won more games & had much closer losing scores with him on the field than Wakem .
I think we would have lost by lot more today if Wakem was there, anyway we can't keep changing positions every week and expect the team to gel, it doesn't matter now the season is gone anyway the best we can hope for in this disasterous year is to try to avoid the spoon
It is inconceivable no one has tried to teach Lewis how to close out a game. Hence, it tells me he doesn’t listen and thinks he has all the answers. Yesterday proved he doesn’t, and as the controlling half he lost that game from 12 points up.

Was he meant to be the controlling half or was JMK meant to be it...regardless Lewis hogged the ball and took all the final plays (except when he stupidly got tackled on the 5th) so he assumed the role.

Lewis has proven yet again he’s not a controlling half, he didn’t contribute significantly to our attacking successes, he continues to run out of the on-line defensive line and leave a complete mess behind him...he’s had 30 games to improve and hasn’t.

If Foz is injured AGAIN, or chucking a tanty over the lowball offer, whatever, the halves IMO need to be chosen from Wakeham, Cogger & Averillo. Young and inexperienced, sure. But they aren’t selfish snapperheads living off their uncle’s name.

If it’s the board that keep selecting Lewis, Georgie needs to tell them to f**k off and let him select the side.

I don’t get why Cogger isn’t playing halfback for the final ten games. Has never got a clear shot like Lewis has with Pay in charge.
Whatever the reason is, it doesn't change what has happened, and what has happened is the main factor for team decision making. Cogger has been 4th choice half for the last 2 months. He might get another go if Foran's big toe is legit stuffed.

As much as Lewis is not a first grade half, anyone who thinks he isn't playing next week is dreaming. Yeah it sucks, but simple fact is that in the last 5 weeks our best performance was the game when Lewis wore #7, and our worst four performances were when Wakeham wore #7. No coach could justify dropping Lewis.

It really goes to show what we all already know, our roster sucks. Also, I'm really disappointed in Wakeham, he should have been making sure we didn't see Lewis again. Almost all of us were relieved when Lewis got dropped and Wakeham got picked, but that has been a disaster. Maybe Wakeham just isn't ready yet.
Actually I thought that Lewis turned us around by finding the line with some good kicking in the first half, but somehow he again failed in the 2nd half.
I thought that Meany went reasonable at FB, disappointing that he has not been given a fair go their to develop his game, the coach or club should realise that top spine players are hard to find, and Meany may make a reasonable no 1, I liked the way he ran down that much bigger winger. They may think that Hoppa and Averillo are better FB's, but Hoppa is also needed at centre and Averillo should make a really great no.6 if he is allowed to develop there.

I was the same as you mate turning to aussie rules in my later years at school. I practised hard in my own time learning the stab kick and drop punt at a little park in belmore. I then started to get better left footed as well and I think I might be still coordinated to do this now if my muscle memory kicks in.
Point is we haven't in ages had a kicker in general play that knows what kick to put in and how to execute it. I'm tired of not seeing subtle grubbers stay in goal. Rather they end up hitting the back signage at speed. Or long kicks not splitting the opposing winger and fullback. And that touch finder yesterday by Lewis. Arghhhhh!!

Foran was/is injured. I don't think he he sat down because of the $300k offer. But also no way do I think he will be at the club beyond this season.

Cogger is leaving also, not wanted.

I think they will continue to select Lewis at 7. Not sure you can play Wakeham at 6 because he can't tackle but maybe that how low we have sunk.

Lewis 7 & Wakeham 6, fuck me that is a nightmare.

Confident we can win plenty of games now. Yesterday was round 1 and we looked like a different team.

Geez mate I wish I shared your confidence . Dragons were ordinary .

If Foran is out long term we won’t win another game . We never really looked like scoring a try in the second half

I Can't understand why we haven't a specialist kick trainer to teach players like Lewis, who has the potential, to use his ability with a combination of long distance clearing kicks and short, accurate tactical kicks. That would always have the opposition in two minds when defending his kicks.
