Veteran South Sydney centre Bryson Goodwin has made a shock switch to the Cronulla Sharks.

The 34-year-old journeyman made a return to the Bunnies this season after a couple of seasons in the UK Super League.

But Goodwin was unable to break into the Rabbitohs' top squad and has been on the radar of struggling Canterbury Bulldogs
But the Sharks have also had their problems, with Bronson Xerri outed on drugs charges, Josh Morris moving to the Roosters and then Jayson Bukuya retiring today
Goodwin has signed with the Sharks until the end of this season but is hoping to extend his deal for 2021.

He will join his new club for training on Monday.

Ironically, Goodwin, the son of the great 'Lord' Ted Goodwin, made his top grade debut with the Sharks in 2007.

He has since had stints at Canterbury, Souths and Warrington and was a member of the Rabbitohs squad that won the 2014 NRL premiership

Thank God we didn't sign him

Another dud scoop from the telecrap. They should be sued for all the lies they get paid to churn out

Well we can put that rumour to bed. Thanks Sharks, we didn't need him or want him.

So, this is a player who started at the Sharks; came to the Dogs; went to Souths; left Souths to go to Warrington; came back to Souths and then left to go to the Sharks??? All in a fourteen year time frame for a total of 234 games ?

Crack open the champagne!

Sometimes who you don't sign can be just invigorating as who you do :grinning:

Strange signing for the peppies, they've got a few decent outside backs floating around and they sign Goodwin.

Wouldn't imagine he'd be getting much game time but who knows (or maybe he's just looking for a bit of extra speed) :smirk:;)

Also signed Nene McDonald ;that replaces the two backs they lost in very quick time and on the cheap....although to my way of thinking a step down in class...Sharkies are stockpiling...

I dont mind Nene. If he can get back to his best it will be a good pick up for the sharks

He was never coming here, it was probably invented by Buzz the Drunk in a vain attempt to disguise the fact that his favoured Sharks are farked as the only ones desperate enough to sign him.
