Slight re-vamp to Super League's finals system

The ESL are using the AFL system for the finals (1v4, 2v 3 etc). However a slight change. The highest rank winner who progresses straight to the preliminary, doesnt only have the home ground advantage, but they also get to CHOOSE who they want to verse pending winners in the second week.

Thoughts? Ideas to build on?

Didn't they do this last year too when they had the top 5 or 6?

It's pretty crazy. I don't like the idea of it. You play whoever you're drawn to play IMO. The less complications the better.

But I'm a big fan of the AFL system and think it's a million times better than the McIntyre system.

they should use the choose function for the nrl top 8

a top 4 team chooses a 5-8 team in order of finishing position

I think they should choose whoever they want (1) gets first pick of anyone in the 8 lowest 2 to go down knocked out.

i think there should be a separation because lets say the bulldogs decided to go with gold coast this year, the 3rd place titans would need to travel to sydney whilst a 5th placed manly can play at home against a lesser ranked team
