He can’t be in charge of recruitment for the dragons and the dogs at the same time. If he gets the dogs job he 100% has conflict of interest issue at dragons and they would let him go.

In saying that, let him come over and be an assistant in the background to suss the place out.

BUT if Flanno is coach next year he should be involved in future signings etc behind the scenes.
Maybe even be involved with Potter and nudge him to get some of the junior talent in first grand so they get some experience before next season.

What happens if we do sign Flanno Snr and this team goes great under Potter for this year? OR if we continue to go crap and just waste the rest of the season? Why wait, get him in if he's the guy. Most assistants seem to have a clause in their contracts about head coaching opportunities.

They always chuck in an excuse with new coaches that they've only had an off-season. Well he could have half a year to start implementing his style of coaching and footy. See what sort of players he has to carry it out and a chance to sign the players that he needs to implement it.

He needs to be careful. That's the sort of thing that resulted in him being deregistered last time.

So if he gets the role. He needs to step down from the Dragons immediately. So he can do stuff here. He can keep his Fox commitments but also work with our club properly.

It would be a test of his ability to see if he can get this team to be competitive, if flano is to be the "chosen one". I don't want to hear about anymore rebuilds next year. It would be good if the new additions coming next year could arrive to a team with a modicum of success Under its belt.

Absolutely not. Let Potter run the show for the rest of the year. Why give Flanno Barrett’s turds to polish up? Give Flanno a full off season season to prepare his troops. Potter will get us some wins this year and will bring some good youngsters into the side. He’s the man for the job for this year.
