Good on him. He's won 3 GFs and lost part of his brain. I don't care what anyone says. Rugby league was, is, can be a brutal sport and players deserve every dollar they get. Good luck Boyd.

Good player! Good decision to give it away. Uncle nick has made master plan For sure to go buy every rep player on the market to replace him

We can all forget about Brandon Smith now. Roosters need a hooker. No prizes for guessing where he ends up.

good luck to Cordner... always sad when players are forced to retire through injury and/or health concerns and there seems to have been quite a few this year --> Jake Friend, Michael Morgan, Brett Morris, Boyd Cordner etc.

Next announcement.. Roosters sign Dave Fifita and Reece Walsh to replace Cordner and Morris and still have cap space to sign three other rep players.

Not shocked but saddened all the same. Played the working mans game the way it should be played, working his arse off. Our standards in defence will suffer with the retirement of both Jake and Boyd. That near capitulation last Saturday arvo would not have happened with them in the paddock imo. We will miss them.

Never seen a team lose 3 players to retirement during a season on top of so many season ending injuries.

I wish Cordner all the best in retirement. He's doing the right thing to retire and I hope he doesn't have too many lingering issues from his repeated concussions in the future.
