Opinion Scheduling farce

Gus saying it like it is, the only way to get better slots is by earning it or being the broncos.
Its not even about earning it though.. how can we play in queensland on sunday and Auckland on friday early game.. I get the warriors had to endure tough times last couple of years but even that was a farce.. as we know the covid protocols dont do shit

Maybe dont do bundaberg game if next game is in nz lol.. bunch of amateurs
And you’d do so much better Alzz. Not.
What a useless thread.
The club submit their intent to take a game on the road BEFORE the draw is done.
It’s one of hundreds of inputs before the draw is done.
Who are the ‘amateurs’ you refer to - the NRL?
Scoop: they don’t do the draw. A Canadian company called Optimal Planning Solutions does it and they also work with the NFL and MLB (who have many more games to schedule in a season). The NRL has certain requirements like Bulldogs/Souths on Good Friday or Dragons/Chooks on Anzac Day and there are literally hundreds of inputs. It’s a complex thing and nothing ‘amateur’ about it just because you don’t like a particular outcome. The club are pros and get on with it. But I guess it’s all ‘corrupt’ or something, right? The only amateur I see is you and your posts :-).

Good thing it's only the Warriors next week. We should be able to beat them on a 1 day turnaround with how bad they're going..

We've had a decent draw most of the season. Every club will get a short turnaround at some point of the season.

Exactly. No draw is ever perfect because there’s so many inputs like number of consecutive home/away games per club, matches the NRL doesn’t want moved (eg: Good Friday / Anzac Day), venue booking/sharing, contractual obligations (like how the Dogs have to split games between Accor and CommBank), broadcast obligations and more. But apparently it’s ‘amateur’…

Na the draw is a joke, can literally play the same team twice in a month while also playing numerous top teams once or twice depending on what side you're on. The draw is stupid as fuck.

Happy for the experts on here to show how it can be done better. There will always be outliers - and reasons they can’t be changed. Having 17 teams next year makes it more complex too.

Every fan will whinge that their team is hard done by and there is a conspiracy.

Don't have 17 teams then.
