Wife of Raiders star banished
Masepa Papalii, the wife of Canberra enforcer Josh, has been banned from local rugby league for a decade following a nasty brawl in July.

Canberra Region Rugby League (CRRL) decided upon the lengthy punishment after Papalii entered the field and took part in a heated fight from a spectator position.

The contest was between West Belconnen Warriors and the Bungendore Kangaroos in the Katrina Fanning Shield. At the time, the Kangaroos were down 48-0 in the second half, with Papalii involved in a scuffle between a player.

Her sister-in-law, Crystal Papalii, has also been slapped with a suspension, although of 20-weeks, as she too was involved in the incident.

⚪️CLUB STATEMENT⚪️

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs recently met with Simon Tayoun, a Canberra Raiders fan who was at the centre of an incident that occurred outside the stadium following the Club’s home match on Sunday, August 4. The Bulldogs were made aware of videos circulating on social media showing a small number of fans engaging in intimidating and inappropriate behaviour toward Simon after the Round 22 victory over the Raiders.

The Bulldogs have thoroughly reviewed the available footage and spoken with a number of involved parties. After meeting with Simon personally to offer the Club’s support, Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton issued the following statement:

“The Club is deeply disappointed by the behaviour of a small group of individuals in the aftermath of our match against the Raiders, particularly concerning the treatment of Simon. Simon is a dedicated and passionate supporter of his team. As a Club, we have long valued the enthusiasm of our supporters who we widely believe are some of the most passionate in the game. While we celebrate the passion of fans like Simon and our own, it is crucial to remember that passion does not justify unacceptable behaviour.

“We would like to remind all fans that respect is a fundamental value of our game. Such is the reason that despite Sunday’s intense on-field rivalry, both teams came together at the end of the match to applaud Josh Papalii’s 300th NRL milestone.”

The CEO added: “We encourage everyone to enjoy the game, embrace the atmosphere and rivalry, but always act with respect. As a Family Club, we believe that true Bulldogs fans embody this principle.”

It is important to note that the Bulldogs are proud of the conduct exhibited by the majority of fans who attended the game and supported the team in accordance with the values of the sport.

“This incident relates to a minority few and we do not wish for this incident to deter from what was otherwise a great atmosphere and a great game of rugby league. Out of respect to Simon and his families' wishes at this time, we will not be making any further comment regarding the incident."

Just saw the the new video from a different angle..

Fuck there has been some absolute carry on from this bloke to the media.

Yes and no. Like, we don’t know what he’s said to club officials etc, other than that statement (assuming he actually said that) where he said he was hit with a stick. Well I think it was more tapped with a drumstick lol, some kid was already holding because they were drumming. But I can see how he could be intimidated after watching the new release video lol. The way they encircled him was ominous, but after he cracked the shits when they guy tried to lift him, they dispersed. For what happened the reaction by a lot of opposition fans (and even many Bulldogs fans) has been ridiculous. Seriously you would think he was beaten to a bloody pulp the way they’re denigrating the club and area.

Given its next to traffic lights and outside the Belmore hotel, you'd think there would be security footage of before and after.

As to the fact that there's another raiders fan among the crowd there being left alone entirely, it does lend some credence to the fact that his outfit drew attention to him.

Hopefully more footage emerges showing that they let him go after that with no more than the boos he copped and some minor inappropriate physical contact and we can move on with some restored reputation. Conversely, if he was harassed and worse happened I hope the people responsible see some repercussions. Ultimately it's not a good look.

Edit. There's a hell of a lot of phones recording it. If he did cop more than that it'll come out. If he's milked the situation that too will come out.

From how everyone acted, I took it as he’s the Raider’s mascot let’s taunt him for losing and then it turned a bit ugly. Really a nothing burger though.

I don’t wanna cast aspersions but I have a feeling this fella is either a bit mentally unstable or milking his 15 minutes.

Dunno if that includes the video evidence but she went sick on the player!

Forget doggies fans it’s the Raider wives you have to look out for! How perfect this was the week before her husband’s 300th too lmao.

The end.
Everyone should move on, as said there are probably vultures trying to concoct a story from this thread alone.

You seem to have a lot to say maybe it's all about you and not the club so if you have nothing better to do than disagree with everyone who has a respectful comment maybe you can go and plait your SHIT

14-15 year old kids having a good time?

That green power ranger has changed his story numerous times now and every time he talks about what happened it gets worse and more dangerous LOL. Yes, that ONE guy shouldn't have tried to get him on his shoulders but that was the entire incident FFS. That ONE moment.
