Same old story

Saw the video of someone trying to lift him up on their shoulders and he reacts like he's being jumped, I'm not trusting a thing this guy says...

I think he has “issues”. Just a hunch from looking at him in his Ozemail Raider outfit. Not that it means he deserves any poor treatment, just that it confuses the issue probably.

Wouldn’t it be great if fans kept an eye out for this guy at the next game and made him feel like a hero/ celebrity to make up for it…

Welcome him to Belmore..!

Hahaha..you don’t get it at all..
I have plenty of Lebanese friends..and I am far from a stereotypical Aussie.
But the facts are facts…the drum bullshit has no correlation to the Bulldogs at all..that’s a fact
The types shown in the footage, intimidate in packs and are fucking cowards…fact
They make our club look like absolute muppets with the burnout bullshit and running the streets after a win…it’s an excuse to be dickheads..fact
Don’t put your shit back on me that I’m being racist against anyone..
I and many many others are just fucking sick of these dickheads tarnishing the culture this club is trying veermently to restore

Mate I wouldn’t be mentioning “burnout bullshit”. White aussie bogans love that shit lol. Even in the remote bush where I live there’s fishies down the highways.

honestly don't know the whole story. But Bulldogs fans should know by now that if the media can take a 10 second video and use it to demonise our fans they will jump all the fuck over it. This isn't something we can deny. Now I don't know if the statement over the photo is true or this Simon dudes actual statement. But it's out there now. This will be in the media for weeks, overshadowing what has turned into an otherwise incredible year for us fans.

Surprisingly it has barely been mentioned afaik. There was a brief mention in an article about Kikau enjoying the crowd and the club released a statement about it.

It’s just on social media footy forums etc where they’re sticking the boot in. I spent all yesterday avoiding them because I was sick of the rubbish and not just about this situation. Just outrage and hate for a lot of things. Knuckle draggers and snowflakes. Meanwhile, 3 young girls were stabbed to death by a kid in Britain and there’s been riots ever since. People need a bit of perspective.

Bro my mate went to SOO in Queensland he and his wife and 3 kids got abused just cause they were wearing the blue jersey, can you imagine a 50 years old drunk man swearing at a 9 year old cause they are wearing a blues jersey.

Someone mentioned Caxton st before. I can’t imagine what happens there to any NSW supporters on origin night.

My wife and I walked past the hotel there on the night of SOO3 in 2010, wearing N.S.W. Jerseys and got abused. We are not great fans of the Suncorp crowd, pity as it’s a great stadium.

Definitely. Respecting high profile opposition fans is part of Rugby League. I once met Laurie Nichols in front of the old stand at the Southern end of Leichhardt Oval, had a great chat with him and shook hands. Respect for the guy.

Probably not.
the point is, there was no malice in what we saw on that video. Just a bunch of guys celebrating a little to exuberantly and another guy who didn’t want to be involved.
to portray it as anything malicious or intentionally intimidating is a bullshit take, designed to whip up drama and stoke hatred.

This is exactly how I saw it mate and that’s the thing, it’s about individual perceptions. I can easily understand how this fella may have felt intimidated (if that’s true), but then again wouldn’t you feel more intimidated at the game when the result isn’t known? Surely you would, because there’d be some level of animosity from the mostly bulldogs crowd, even though only a small number would actually care about this bloke doing his thing.

Anyway, the point is while it looks to me that most of those dogs fans surrounding him were trying to encourage him to join in the drumming, a few took it too far. Especially the trying to lift him. That’s just a brainsnap. To read that he’s in his 60s?! is also shocking, but those fans clearly didn’t know. Even seeing a pic of him in his mask, I would have guessed 40s or so.

End of the day, you can’t go touching people without their consent because everyone perceives intent differently.

Look at my other comments, I rewatched it a few times and it’s been blown way out of proportion..

But

The damage has been done. Every man and his dog has come out and condemned the fans and labelled us all terrorists and rapists again lol

Just curious and not having a go at you, but I find it interesting how you changed your view completely after rewatching it?

From my first view I found it odd and confusing, but I didn’t see much wrong. The dogs fans didn’t look angry, except maybe the one with the double “up yours” but Viking man is clearly unhappy when the idiot tries to lift him, as he points at several people. I’m guessing he’s telling them off. He actually looks intimidating there tbh. This is the main problem with the whole thing. Trying to lift him was unexpected and dangerous. That dude should be criticised for touching him, but he may well have had good intentions too.

As for the rapist stuff, fact is smoothbrains will say that forever even though no charges ever went to court. They also rarely if ever say it to your face. Funny that.

The bloke who tried to lift him should be given membership for free the way this raider bloke is carrying on now
Next he'll be comparing it to the Beirut Blast in 2020

I'm surprised it hasn't been picked up by more media oitlets and used to smear us TBH.

And for what it's worth I'm now of the opinion that a guy who wears an outlandish costume and carries a drum to games is something of an attention seeker who's lapping this up as his 15 minutes of fame.

Doesn't make me think that we more than most clubs need to be working as hard off field to maintain a positive image as our team are defending on field.

Having watched the video a couple of times to compare his statement to the video and he's definitely milked this. Might have been a bit scary for him. But for the most part, if it'd been me in his situation it'd annoy me having some stranger with hands on me trying to get me into the circle first if all. And having the dude try to pick me up without consent would too. As would the taps on the helmet (which appeared to be pretty soft taps at that). But to some extent he's got to know that wearing that outfit to games is going to draw some attention and some of it won't be positive

I have always thought it was an Australian N R L rugby league club not just a Lebanese club .I don't get to many games as I live out in the bush in rural QLD went to a game in BRISBANE years ago and there was another BULLDOG supporter sitting in front of where I was, he started trying to annoy the broncos' fans was an absolute clown by half time I was ready to crack the idiot. IN my opinion we don't need clowns for me to go to a game and spend money as well as on travel and accommodation I want to be able to enjoy the game as everyone should so all it takes is to have respect for other people no matter who they support.

What about the doggies fan (wearing the jersey) giving a bit of the OOS OOS to the fan who disrespected the last post or whatever recently? He was lauded as a hero for belting someone lol.

Help me understand why he didn’t walk away like the first kid directed him to do

Celebrations were fine, but whether it was harmless or not, you can't surround someone, and then lay hands on a opposition fan. I get he may have wanted to lift him on his shoulders, but I certainly wouldn't of been comfortable surrounded like that by opposition fans and then have someone literally trip me over.

I have been around for a while watching games, was even in the ground when the bunger when off during the whole "terror in the stands" bull, and I (and I imagine a lot of us) certainly don't want that stigma that we used to carry around being a dogs supporter all of those years ago.

Where did this bunger incident occur?

No one says a word in media about that shit bro…they pump it up…but your a doggie supporter my bro they were week as piss.

Exactly and that’s my biggest gripe with all this sort of stuff. Many people say don’t use the “what about these fans” argument, but fuck that. We should call out other situations that either get swept under the rug or actually hyped or made fun of. E.g: The treatment of origin fans by each other is actually made a joke by the likes of Fletch and Hindy.

Respect everyone or respect no one.

Where did this bunger incident occur?
Early 2000s. It was at Accor vs Broncos from memory.

It was a fuckwit teenager, I grabbed the **** and "handed" him to security. He copped a mad beating while getting pulled away to the cops.

Wasn't even a dogs fan, just some fuckwit looking for trouble.
