Exactly lol. I was at that game...they rang that shitty bell for about an hour before kick off and played glory glory over the loud speakers. It was an event for Souths hosted by the NRL. Of course the NRL would want the big ticket to stay on the field.The players are no more than slabs of meat to the NRL administration. If they can't make money anymore they're quickly discarded.
This was the year HIA were introduced (or the year before). This meant that any severe knock to the head meant a player had to come off for a HIA test and needed to pass before coming back on. Surely a knock to the head so severe it broke your cheek bone sufficed a HIA... but yeah None of that happened. Swept under the carpet. Moving along.
