Great post mate. And allthough i agree, there is one glaringly obvious thing that you forgot to acknowledge, the roosters are always paying more then they declare. They cheat the cap better then anyone. So of course it always looks like they are getting players on the cheap. Do you really think fingers stayed on for unders when he is a current NSW and Australian player? I doubt it. And he is just one of many examples.
Fingers only re-signed for one year so who knows how much he is on for 2018 but from 2015-2017 he was on the same deal from when he was exiled. No way it was more than what B Moz is getting paid.

I don't know if you have seen the article yet but Politis actually came out and sad that his club just manages the cap better than others. Unless an insider snitches they'll never get caught for any wrondoing

Dont blind yourselves praising the 'good work' of the Roosters.. their PR spin on their cap is all BS and smokescreen..

They can only assemble the roster they currently have by the majority of their bigger bname players and talented juniors accepting 'unders'..

Tedesco was offered 1.2 & 1.1mill by us and the Tigers but took the Roosters 700K

Now Souths say they offered Crightin 700K, the Roosters say they offered similar cash yet he switches clubs.. the media though have speculated its closer to 1mill/season..

The point is the Roosters being able to sign every star under the sun IS NOT ABOUT GREAT CAP MANAGEMENT

Its alot more about being able to sign top talent for unders on your books presented to the NRL, and how they top up the players salary is where all the question marks begin..

Any team will have a great roster if they can always sign the big name players that are offered huge money by other clubs for 'unders'

In 2014 the cap was 5.5mill plus 600K in TPAs . Many Player agents said the Roosters squad was valued between 8-9million on the market.

SBW signed for them for 600K in 2013 to honour a handshake agreement, thats after he complained about the 500K he signed with us for 6 years earlier

The last 5 seasons our recruitment has been f### up. One of the problems has gone and 1 germ remains. Hopefully we start the season with a new coach, a new board and an old school footy mind set.
