Russia vs Ukraine

A worry for us.

It's definitely concerning, but there are some caveats. BRICS is being carried by China, just like how the rest of the world is being carried by the US. But China's economy is currently in a massive downturn. After Covid, most economies bounced back. China didn't, and it's still in decline. It will get out of it eventually, but right now it's not in any position.

That said, when China do bounce back, BRICS will control around 1/4 of the global economy. That amount could rise if they bring in more countries. And they're already looking likely to pick up Africa's richest nations soon.

And China our largest trading partner.
And Iran now discovering vast Lithium deposits to further affect our trade going forward and be selling to the BRICS.

Is it fair to say that's why NATO has not welcomed the Ukraine previously?

Yep. NATO wouldn't even consider Ukraine because of its corruption. They're doing a lot to get rid of that corruption, but it's still there.

This thread has been quiet for nearly a year now. Still going on though. In the lastest:

- NATO meeting is currently taking place and Zelensky is in attendance. They aren't going to offer Ukraine NATO membership at this time as it would likely result in WW3

- Russia bombed Ukraine's largest Children's Cancer hospital. Russia were quick to claim that it was actually a Ukrainian defence missile, but Ukraine say there were pieces of a Russian missile at the scene, and there's footage showing the missile impact. Experts have all stated that the missile was a Russian precision cruise missile. So not only was it a Russian attack on a children's cancer hospital, it was most likely deliberate

The Indian PM while meeting Putin in the last 24 hours made subtle but clear reference to the hospital bombing. He seems to be treading a bit of a fine line, Ukraine and supporters are furious that he is even talking to Putin, let alone giving him a hug. Putin is probably furious about Modhi's remarks about the lives of children. If Modhi can keep treading the thin line, he'll keep trading with the west and simultaneously keep buying cheap Russian oil.

U know who ticked the Indian purchase of Russia oil? The US. Why you would ask?

Because without that, Indian competes with the rest of the world for the rest. Driving prices up and adding extra pressure to world economies. And the best bit, India are paying junk yard prices. So while Russia are getting cash, they are selling low and screwing themselves longer term.

Its a win for everyone. And as for the source - Eric Garcetti - the US ambassador to India.

Apparently the small man putin jailed Orthdox bishops begging him to stop the war.

Fuck putin and his small man syndrome

PS that doesn't automatically mean I'm on that other little bagel eating beggers side.

Fuck both of those *****.

Funny story I heard about the other day. A Zelensky look a like was being hunted by Russia so they could use him for propaganda. A Putin impersonator and a Kim Jong UN impersonator helped him escape

Reckon the Russian forces would be disinterested by now being forced to attack the latest high tech defences, nothing to be gained stalemate, long live Democracy!

The war in Ukraine took another weird turn. Even though Ukraine forces are stretched thin, 3 days ago they launched attacks on Kursk inside Russia. This is the first time Ukrainian military have entered Russia. Everyone expected it to be shut down quickly, but they have been fighting for 3 days. Russia declared a state of emergency and evacuated the town.

Putin had released a statement saying that Ukraine are targeting civilian structures and medical facilities.

Taking out a military supply and organisation hub?

I don't think they're targeting anything in particular. I think the point of this attack was to show the Russian citizens that they're not safe. They're probably hoping that this will make Putin look bad so other factions will make a move against him. The reason they picked Kursk could be due to it having a nuclear power plant.

So that midget begger is escalating war, or someone else told him to escalate?

That's Putin's claim. I don't think it's really an escalation though. Russia made a full on invasion of Ukriane and they're not backing down. The only possible escalation is nuclear warfare, and that's not going to happen.

I think it's just Ukraine trying to destabilise Russia as a last ditch effort 'cause they know that eventually Ukraine will lose.

Still it's a worry with all the other conflicts in the world all bubbling together.

Nearly 1 week since Ukraine entered Russia and Russia are still on the backfoot. They shifted a massive amount of Russian troops to the new Ukrainian frontline and they still haven't been able to push Ukraine back. Ukraine now reportedly control 10,000 square km of Russian territory.

Zelensky has stated that the reason they invaded Russia was to encourage Russia to negotiate.
