The moment we couldn't score a try last week against Melbourne, and then they scored, the defeatist body language came back. Team is lacking any confidence whatsoever. We still have a very very long time before we see a turnaround in fortunes.
Barrett has to go as well as JJ Jmk wadell and the other dead wood..
Some of the stupid mistakes were out of Barrett’s hands though. Last night wasn’t a coaching issue it was a lack of effort issue. Dropping balls in our half, 6 agains on the 4th and dumb penalties aren’t from the coach. It’s from just not being NRL standard. If you noticed. Every time they scored bat two tries were off mistakes we made in our own half. If we erase those mistakes we are a chance and the score is respectable. Not saying we win but we don’t get pumped. I thought Flanagan did good in his first hit out. I’m hoping he sticks with him. Apart from that you’re right Waddell, JMK and Jackson have to go. They’re bringing a losing mentality to the side. I was at the game and it oozes out.

the Panthers were definitely beatable last night, just didn't take advantage of it.
Because we thought we had no chance of beating them that was the mindset, wrong mindset.

Listen I agree. But I don’t believe we have another centre in the club at this point to replace him. No other centre would’ve set the Fox up for that line break. Schoupp would’ve died with the ball and so would Naden or anyone else. Was impressed with the tip on. I called since last year for him to be in the centres. We wasted a whole season and pre season of experimenting him at 7. What a delay of development. He needs to stick with him there and let him build confidence. He’s a good player on his day. Unfortunately apart from a small few last night they were all shit. If Im gonna pick between Averillo and Schoupp I’m taking Averillo all day. Schoupp can’t move laterally, can’t pass and offers nothing but a straight hard run. Which anyone can run hard. But Averillo can offer a pass a step and a line break if he can wrong foot the defence. Leave him there at centre. Let him gain valuable experience there. Work on his game and he’ll be a good future centre for the dogs. No more chopping and changing. I also thought Stimson showed some grit and that Melbourne mentality last night too. Max King always comes to play also. Leave the 6&7 for combinations to build. Mahoney next year will elevate our attack so much Burton and Flanagan will have a better platform to work some magic. You can see some glimpses but the service from dummy half is that Fucken slow the defence is up in our face too quickly.
I agree, time to stick with these players in their proper positions. Baz should of done it from the trials and onwards.

Anyone watch cook in reserve grade? How did he go?

Yep those mistakes were unforgivable. Also Burns looked pedestrian yesterday. Their back 5 destroyed us

What Burns and Dufty dished up last night was much worse than anything I've seen Okunbur dish up in a single game.
That’s a big take but agree that Dufty had a career worse game and Burns prob needs a rest and put Schoupp back in

Jacko making 56 tackles looks great on paper but in reality it gassed him as he only made 6 runs and he gave away a few 6 agains cos he was out on his feet !!

Jake is absolute fine at centre, so many other things to worry about. People are so obsessed with looking for faults in him.
I’m pretty objective Mutt. Don’t let emotion cloud my judgement. I personally think (stats aside) that schoupp is a better centre then Jake at the moment. He has the jump on Jake being a specialist centre and has more aggression and strength which are key ingredients in the game.

But it actually does have everything to do with the coach unfortunately. He instills everything into those players. Coach might not drop the ball, but in a professional environment like tje Panthers Storm etc etc the coach sets the standards and professionalism. Bellamy would not tolerate the mistakes we make every single week. We should be 3-2 not 1-4 that's a given if we had another better option as coach..

It's hard because we don't score Stimson's try yesterday if that's Schoupp instead of Jake, but it would be nice to have a hard running outside back
