Opinion Round 1 2024 Lineup Prediction and Player Losses/Gains

Agree the attitude across the board is poor. Which is reflected in the results.

I went into this season believing we would finish with 8-9 wins so we are not that far away from that mark.

We have been smashed by injuries which hasn’t helped. However it’s the nature of how we have played regardless of who is playing that is most disappointing. Experience and talent aside. Whoever pulls on that jersey should be turning up on defence for each other, the coaches and the fans.

I’m not sure where the finger of blame lays.

The players, the coaching, fitness or a combination of all? The attitude is just not there. I’m worried that is something that cannot be fixed by a flick of the switch over an off season.

Points to lack of respect and enthusiasm for the playing structures, the actual training/club environment and most worrying, the coaching staff.

Can't see any alternative. Sexton is one of those guys (actually like many guys the Dogs seem to recruit) that don't appear to offer much if the team is going shit but if the team starts to fire they go with it and rise to the occasion. Don't be too quick to write the guy off.

I hope Sexton can at least show glimpses of what his got over the next few weeks, some good finish to sets, consistently smart pass selection. Anything that stands him out against Rajab, BBO, Bailey, KO, Flang. My fear is that Sexton is just on par with the other playmakers in the club.

I don't know how people still have the optimism to keep posting these threads after the last 8 years. I could care less who is in the team next year at the moment. I just want to see 17 players giving everything they have and working hard for each other.

Right now even some of our best players have become passengers, we leave 10 metre gaps between defenders in the defensive line and players look like they don't want to be there.

Not all on the players. It’s a vicious cycle that starts with coach trying to implement defensive and attacking structures that either don’t suit team or team can’t adapt to quickly enough. The losses mount, the players lose confidence in each other and the coach. We brought players from winning clubs and winning cultures. Kikau, fox, Burton, Reed, TPJ, and look at the results. Did we not learn from Barrett? Put potter back in charge FFS.

He’s playing Flegg, should be able to handle the middle in Flegg if he is gonna do it in the future ………ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING he played in the middle in first grade at different parts of games.
And CONSIDERING the fact that it was stated he is seen as a FUTURE NRL 13, wouldn’t it be prudent to let him develop as a 13 I. Flegg ????????
