If it were me, this is why. I would push for.

We pay Reynolds remaining wage this year in its entirety. Why not? We can afford.

In exchange, tigers aggressively pay More in his 2021 salary, lest say 500k.

so it ends up that dogs pay more than half (tigers will like that as it's more than their offer) but works out to our benefit as it doesn't hit our 2021 cap at all and kneecaps the pies cap, who are still paying overs for packer as well.

He’s better than what we have.
Can’t see any other decent hooker signing for us. Especially jake friend and Mahoney will never come back to us.

The way I see it I’m happy for him to come back. We all know he has the passion for the club and always puts in 110%, and provides a bit of experience around mostly young halves... especially when foran breaks down again. We just sacked 2 players so we have cap room for this season and if tigers are stumping up half his salary then we might as well I think. I agree with an earlier poster though that we need to max out his salary in this years cap and try to have tigers pay the majority for next year

Said this in another thread. Ponga is a problem himself for workload and the cash we'd be paying him... But it's a hell of alot better paying him say an extra 300k and not going near Reynolds and other wood ducks

If we buy a Ponga/Hayne type player, we need to offset with a Kimmorley, Reynolds or Cronk.
The former are players that wait for their moment to deliver some slick flash, but we need busy players to do the dot connecting.

I don't think bulldogs fans ever truly appreciates with Kimmorley did for our team those two years.
