For the past year or so, we've seen nothing but rubbish from Reni.

Terrible attitude, drink driving case, maybe the worst defence in the history of Rugby League since the Chris Walker/Justin Hodges combination of 04... not to mention the B.S with South Sydney and his L.A super star performance AND the Bra Boy's media case.

Seriously, we need an attitude change quick because I'm sick of the crap. I want players who want to be here, not passengers who turn up, get paid then switch off.

Reni Matuia - Last Chance

RENI'S LAST CHANCE

December 04, 2007 TROUBLED Bulldogs player Reni Maitua has been ordered to train with the NRL club's premier league squad indefinitely in the aftermath of his weekend drunken bender.

Bulldogs chief executive Malcolm Noad said Maitua was on his last chance with the club after he failed to show up to yesterday's training session.

“After discussions with Reni Maitua, his manager Gavin Orr, (coach) Steve Folkes and myself it has been decided that Reni will be training with the Bulldogs premier league team (part-time squad) indefinitely,” Noad said.

“It will be up to Steve Folkes as to when Reni returns to the fulltime squad.

“In addition, Reni has agreed to enter into a behavioural agreement with the Bulldogs.

“This agreement will contain very strict guidelines and if he doesn't follow those guidelines his playing contract will be terminated. He has entered into that agreement freely.

“Basically, Reni has one last chance with the club.”

Noad also vowed to stand by the 25-year-old utility, who has volunteered to undergo counselling for his alcohol problem.

“We're helping him through that issue. He wants to get some help and we'll be doing that,” Noad said.

Orr said Maitua was very embarrassed for the anguish he had caused his family, the club and its fans.

“He takes full responsibility for his actions over the last few days,” said Orr, who played down talk Maitua was keen to leave the Bulldogs to join South Sydney from 2009.

“It has been speculated that Reni wants to leave the club. That is not the case. Reni is 100 per cent behind the Bulldogs,” he said.

Increased ego leads to decreased effort and complancency which shows up more in defence than anywhere else

Hey Reni, here's your big chance to get out of your contract.

Spare us the Mason Crap and P*ss off now before your slovenly attitude rubs off on to any one else.

Let's hope the premier league coaching staff humiliates him so much he'll have to hit the grog and "reoffend" sooner rather than later.

That's probably the only way to minimize the damage he'll be doing to every player he hangs around.

He missed a session in 07 before the Warriors game which saw him dropped to the bench.

I think Maitua's biggest problem is he lacks maturity and forgets what position he is in. We all know his life story, and he needs to make some decisions about whether he wants to fulfill his potential or just be another 'coulda been' like Anasta. and while I'm not making excuses for him, I'm not ready to chop him. For me he is now our second best player, and has the ability to be one of the top five players in the comp. I just hope he learns to pull his head in.

Anyway, he is training with the PL squad, maybe that will wake him up.

noone knows the full story not even his manager. All we hear iis rubbish and everyone always believes it. Give him the benefit of the doubt, not even his manager knows whats going on. Stop being so quick to jump to sack our players.

Ive also heard from an Under 20's player, that since MAson left, Reni has never been happier and more keen to work hard for the team. How about we just react to what we know, not what we speculate hey
I agree - everyone is still reeling from the Mason incident, that we over react when anything seems untoward.

Chill pill it people and let the dust settle before you inhale and sigh.

Let him be..

This was the perfect chance for him to go..

His not a Mason, not an ego-flated jerk

Since when does Reni go around telling everyone they're going to own the their opponents? Or when did he openly admit to saying that another head coach was brillant and that he'd love to play under said coach.

Calm it people and don't make assumptions..

His not mason, and he never will be, not in terms of being the world's biggest d1ck but he definitely can be a better footballer should he fullfil his potential

Bulldogs CEO Malcolm Noad made the following statement today regarding Bulldogs player Reni Maitua and his non-attendance at a training session yesterday:

“Basically, Reni has one last chance with the Club.”

Gavin Orr, manager for Reni Maitua, added, “Reni is very embarrassed for the anguish he has caused his family, the Club and its fans. He takes full responsibility for his actions over the last few days.

“It has been speculated that Reni wants to leave the Club. That is not the case. Reni is 100% behind the Bulldogs.”
