Believe me my bro, my kids go to a Christian school and they only learn about religion 30 mins a week.
I hope it's improved since I went to school.

I went to a state school & it was called religious instructions. Had nuns run it.

I told them I didn't really believe & the older nun told me I was going to hell.

Me being the shy type replied, can you save me a seat. (straight to the office for me)

Speaking of club and church, I'm sick of hearing basically the same reason for hate for both, they don't hate the organisation, they hate their followers.
I have to admit, when I saw Kelpie say there's a 3rd reason people hate him, my immediate thought was, "You're also an Arsenal supporter?"

Between the Bulldogs (NRL), Wanderers (A League), and Arsenal (EPL), I think I have mastered the reason to be hated. But at least I'm not a Manly supporter.

I have never heard anyone say that they hate the Bulldogs because they are Catholics, certainly not for 50 years anyway.
But I've heard some people say they hate the bulldogs because they are muslims, quite a lot in recent years, we obviously don't mix with the same people.

I had the super religious tell me that everyone knows Christ. Including everyone who has never heard of him. They have said that those living in uncontactable tribes in the Amazon also know Christ, but they reject him.

I don't know where you stand on that, but my stance is simple. The world (and her mother) will tell her about Christ. But I will ensure that she knows that Christ isn't the absolute truth. Christ is an opinion and it's up to her if she wants to follow that opinion.
If Christ is an opinion then the whole Christian movement has and still is ONE hell of a production, with the script writers been the Apostles who were prepared to die rather than just say they were just doing a movie for all the idiots of the future to enjoy.
BTW I'm not sure that everyone on Earth would know about Christ, in fact I believe many have never heard of Christ, and very few would know about his life on earth.
In fact I would think that 95% of Catholic wouldn't know about Christ and his work with any depth.

I have said it before, but many cults have had legions of members kill themselves because they believe they are doing it for a higher cause. Not long ago a preacher convinced 400 of his congregation to starve themselves to death. Not just them, but their children too. And they did it in the name of God. Sure, it's misguided, but it shows that the willingness of the Apostles really means nothing.

One of the issues I usually encounter with the religious is that I believe that an open mind is required. To operate in modern society, you need to accept that you could be wrong. Religion doesn't allow that. Most religions (especially Christianity) state that they are right and they will not accept any alternative.

I accept that all things are possible. It's possible God exists, and it's possible God doesn't exist. Whether you believe or not is a personal journey. But it's not the same journey for everyone.

I'd bet that any followers of that preacher won't be killing themselves in 2000 years time, probably none even a week later.
As for Religious people not having an open mind, if you do some research you will find that athiests also don't always have an open mind to, because if they did they would know that God is at least a possibility.
BTW I've tried to look at the concept of God with an open mind, and came to the conclusion that its easier to believe that God created the whole universe, than to believe that the universe just happened, or putting it more simply, that (NOTHING MADE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING).
BTW I'm closing shop for tonight have do go to our 24/7 prayer relay at 1.30 am

The problem with your assumption is that I (as an atheist) said that it's very possible that God exists. Even Richard Dawkins, and evolutionary biologist and one of the most anti-religious people you'll ever meet. He still says that God could exist.

The difference is that any atheists that actually takes the scientific side, says that it's possible that God exists. Would you say it's possible that God doesn't exist?

No I meant Dogs fans in general, when we used to have young idiot "fans" causing trouble and giving us a bad name.

I had 3 games over 2 years where I ended up getting in a full on fight with a Bulldogs fan. Each time we were both wearing Bulldogs jerseys but they were young dickheads that just wanted to fight so they picked on the biggest guy they could find. Around that time (about 10 years back) it started getting embarrassing to support the Dogs. I would wlays support them until death, but the fans made it hard.

Wanderers are the same. Love them, and they have the most passionate fans in the league. But they also have the biggest dickhead fans in the league. Broke my hand at one game 'cause we lost to Melbourne and a group of 6 Wanderers supporters decided to bash one small Melbourne supporter. Tried to defuse the situation and ended up with the same 6 Wanderers pounding on me even though I was wearing the same jersey. Did the usual thing while overwhelmed. Picked the biggest guy and hammered him until he stopped fighting back. Probably a little while after that. And ended up breaking my fist on his skull.

Stupid shit that shit fans bring in. Shit fans are a curse on their club.

I also forgot to mention that there's 2 billion Muslims in the world. And when it comes to killing yourself/marytrdom, Christianity doesn't even come close to Islam. Does that mean Christianity is less real?

Catholic schools are just money grabbers while offering very little more than public schools do. Plus you have to pay for the extras on top of fees.
You learn more
About the Dreamtime at a Catholic school then your own religion.

Just got out of bed after spending 1'30 -4 am at our 24/7 prayer relay, we have a special Chappell for it.
Actually I have to agree with you this time. But believing in God is the most serious business of all, what do you make of a person who while praying says I not sure if I believe you exist Lord.
You've got to believe in God 100% if you want to be trully united with him, (as unrealistic as it might sound to athiests). Believing in God dosen't give a believer the right to judge or condemn others, but it should allow us the right to oppose attitudes/behavior which Jesus Himself condemned, without condeming any people of course.

Muslims have the advantage of been marglinised and despised by many particularily in the western Countries. For that reason many who feel disliked around the world turn the Islam to find brotherhood.
Thats the reason Mahomad Ali the famous Boxer and our own The Man Mundine converted to Islam. BTW they both used the race card a lot, and many others have turned to Islam for similiar reasons.
Also one of our Church elders has found an evidence that 6 million muslims convert to Catholisms every year.
If our Church leaders preached that we are not part of the general athietics/paganastic culture we happen to live in, all those disedients who turn to Islam would become Catholics instead.
Although I tolally agree with our Churches interpretation of what Jesus taught, I dont always agree with the way our leaders handle current matters

I've heard a bit about our few louts, went to brooky almost 30 years ago for a game, and I tought that some of their fans were the skum of the earth. with their constant race hate remarks
Also the SL war was initated by the Broncos led by Ribot, but our club was the one that was maligned much more than all the SL aligned clubs together.
By mainly guess who, Haddley, and now our own Gustavo, who since he rejoined our club it appears that his hate was against the Moores and the Andersons. I just hope he dose'nt hold any more hidden anamosity against our club.

Yeah, I definitely get that. I understand that the religious need to be super strong in their belief. I just want to make sure that my daughter knows that the choice is hers to make and that neither choice is wrong.
