What is in it for JAC to continue to claim innocence?
Basically the difference between his current salary and what he would earn elsewhere.
If it is established the club didn't have sufficient legal grounds to sack him, assuming that is what is about to happen.
Plus damages.
The next step will be for club lawyers to look at how good JAC's case is. Which is basically that paying a traffic fine is not grounds for being sacked.
Because legally that is all that has happened so far.
Unless there is proof of him lying to club officials and his contract makes lying sackable.

Why would u do this though. If club dont want ya, it has become untenable. U cant play this sport in a divisive team. It just wont breed success. Only way we succeed is everyone ripping in 110% every week. This crap is poison
Why? because it is about a payout now. My understanding is the club want to terminate his contract for misconduct with zero payout.

He has had a couple of other indiscretions hasn't he? The brawl he was in in the Koori Knockout for one, illegal use of guns on Latrells farm. He's had a couple of chances our foxx

Fuck this guy. Bringing unnecessary scrutiny to the club and dragging this out with his bullshit
What he did knowingly in the cocaine matter damaged the club no end by being selfish and no consideration
to the club.
Now, he is only thinking of himself again and putting his situation ahead of the wellbeing of the club
by engaging a legal team to fight for his retention.
Do everyone a favour Fox and cop it sweet

Let him stay, if it’s what his heart really really wants, a reduced salary and a clause that if he fucks up one more time he’s done.

Make him earn his way back into the team with good cup performances, hard training and show how much he truly wants to be apart of the team. No more BS.

To me it seems Fox has been handed a massive reality check. He went from undeniable to undesirable.

Bulldogs are finally in a position where the players don’t dictate shit with us. Players use to think they hold the hand in poker over us, but we own the damn deck now.
Want to walk? Walk. Next man up.
Want to play for us, we’ll fucking back you to the end.

What's telling is that no other club wants him, even with us paying freight.

Broken + aging + off-field baggage is not a good combo for any club.

We don’t need to pay freight with him fucking up, we only have him for one more year anyway don’t we?

We won't pay if we sack him.

But we let him talk to other clubs with freight for 2025 and nobody wants him. He isn't a modern day winger. All he had was speed and now he is losing it.

The D Day is here, what will the outcome be ?
Most of us know that JAC was given the opportunity to find a new club but didn't preferring to stay, a club was interested but he declined now there is a mention of another, is the writing on the wall or there is a final twist to come ???

His lawyer will claim that he has been punished for those indiscretion's and shouldn't be punished again. Noting that a conviction was not recorded for the guns incident that occurred 3 years ago. Also that in the Koori Knockout a year ago he was not the aggressor and no charges were laid by police. The NRL punished him with a suspended fine which he subsequently has had to pay and games suspension which he served.

His lawyer will also claim that the NSW justice system has reviewed the recent non criminal DUI situation and prescribed punishment, a fine which he has paid and licence suspension which he is serving.

His lawyer will also claim that the NRL has reviewed this current drug driving situation and prescribed punishment, a fine which he has paid and games suspended which he will serve.

His lawyer will point out that the punishments were not excessive or out of line with the many other players involved in similar situations. Plus at no time did the NRL consider any punishment remotely close to cancelling his contract.

Based on the above his lawyer will then point out that the only remaining indiscretion that he hasn't already been punished for is an assertion that he lied to Gould. His lawyer will then claim JAC told the truth as he knew it at the time, which was not an unrealistic assumption that since the Police let him drive home that he was "all good". It was only after the original conversation with Gould that the situation of Police procedural difference surfaced. JAC still asserts he wasn't drug driving and has a comprehensive independent test (within the window) to support that.

Of course all of the above is purely my supposition, based on our limited knowledge, but any decent lawyer could mount a pretty good case that contract cancellation would be unjustified. That's what they get paid the $big to do. Then it's up to us to present our case as to why it is justified, this might get interesting especially as more facts come to light.

It is a risk for him personally, if he doesn't win the case he is going to be up for many thousands in legal costs, and other clubs are unlikely to touch him.

What he is claiming is unfair and unjustified contract termination, hence the burden of proof is on us to justify his contract being terminated. That’s a high bar to jump and from what we know any decent lawyer could argue against it. It’s what we don’t know that may well determine the outcome. We don’t know what we don’t know.

Exactly, it is important to withhold judgement whenever there are sufficient gaps of knowledge. You've described the generalities of the situation very well, but neither your or I or anyone else on TK has enough grasp of enough of the specifics to know for sure.

I hope for the sake of the class things JAC has done for fans and the good relationship the club had with him since he arrived in our dark days that this gets resolved in a reasonably amicable way.
