Gus just said Josh stood himself down from this weekend’s game

Hope it’s a stuff up hard by police.
And the sooner we know the better .
Nothing surprises me when it comes to the Law

Under recent legislation changes Police can use discretion on letting someone drive away after a test.
I assume that must mean the level of substance detected and/or conclusiveness of any test.

It’s very flawed and I have had a false positive myself. But it makes no sense that he would stand himself down and the club would allow him too for finals game, if there was nothing more to it.

That's my concern. If your not guilty you don't stand yourself down from the biggest game in 8 years for the club.

I actually believe JAC and it will be a case of false positive which has happened many times in the past, including my self experience.
I simply don't believe it, and trust in JAC.
A guilty man wouldn't volunteer to have his own drug test done by his own independent doctor.
it's a hollow gesture that means nothing. Not saying he's guilty but getting tested after 4.5 days is useless given cocaine won't be detected in blood after 2 days.

8-10 weeks for results. I think the NRL will stand him down based on the first (and second) positive readings

He was allowed to drive home after testing positive. What the fuck am I missing here. Someone with a *higher IQ than I please explain to me.

There are new laws surrounding this where if there is a police emergency nearby, they can allow the person driving to leave the scene if they deem them to be fit to drive. That calls into question the actual point of the tests, but it doesn't mean he was cleared and may very well have had it in his system

So worthy of a fine and loss of licence but allowed to drive. Should be automatically taken off the road. Ridiculous rule. Do the crime do the time.

He MAY be a little underdone, injury-wise, and giving himself another week to recover. Shouldn't be a problem, though. Large sections of the kennel (or an extra noisy small section... ) seem to think he's past it and every Tom, Dick, and Harry can take his place, so we'll see...

Depends on when he took the substance, all good to turn up and volunteer yourself if you have experience of knowing when it's out of your system

The club may not be willing to believe him

Anyone know where the whole press conference can be found? 9 cut it off when the questions started.

My one post on this subject.

Is it disputed that the police let him drive home? If they in fact did then he had every right to assume that he was clear and good to go, otherwise they would have taken his licence and keys.

I do not find it a conflict if he is not guilty AND stood down so as to remove any media focus on him and not on what is really important which is the game. Which is what the players and coaching staff need to concentrate on.
