Reed Mahoney

New Bulldogs recruit Reed Mahoney has admitted he was having serious doubts about his off-season move as the Eels marched towards the NRL grand final. Mahoney rejected a three-year extension with the Eels to pen a four-year, $650,000-a-season contract with the Bulldogs in late-2021.

After confirming his next move, Mahoney explained how Cantebury head of football Phil Gould convinced him to move across from their close rivals in Parramatta

Prolly the best kicker and should get the ball on the last sometimes, does he have a quick zip?

Will be the MOM.

First game back in our colours at Belmore.

I'm sure he missed the joint as our junior

Reed is the ultimate leader. Put on several big hits and forced errors when we needed them.. Was kicking way more today and controlled the ruck beautifully. Even if he makes a mistake, he makes up for it ten fold.. He's a true leader and inspiration. And he's quickly become a fan favourite with his hustle and skill..

It's great to not only have our hooker finally sorted after years of struggling in that area but to also have a captain that makes game changing plays over and over again and shows such passion to his players and the crowd.

Shaping up to be equivalent of Cam Smith for sure. There was a touch of Cam in that ‘dive’ to win the penalty/disallowed try at the weekend!

That was awful to watch. Can’t say I was complaining though.

It should read round 4

650 is a fuckin steal for this bloke. Eels have no idea. They're going to throw almost double that for Moses.

Reed is a fuckin weapon! What an addition to this team, I hope we retain him
