I’d chase B Smith hard. Grant will stay Storm, they’ll make that work and they will recognise he is probably more important than B Smith.

I’d then make a good play for a young half - Burton from Panthers. Get his head turning hard. I know he has his detractors but I’d sign Foran for 2 years at 400-450 second year our option. There is no experienced half as good as him out there.
There is a case for Hastings but I’m not sold to be honest. I wouldn’t kick stones if we got him, but I’d rather Burton.

3rd dash is for Cortic. Latest rumours are a massive worry... we need to get this one over the line.

First of all I'd Like to congratulate you on your post, not sure if I agree with all of it but you certainly put a lot of thought into it and I commend you for your effort, My question is does anyone know if Matt Dufty is of contract with ST George ?, and also James Malony situation in England ? ( It would be great to entice back to Australia & Play for the Dogs ). My Vision for a solid spine with good pace & stability Would be - 1. Dufty, 6. Burdon, 7. Malony, 9. Jake friend. I think this is doable and can be achieved at a good price. Just my opion.

Munster, Cotric, B. Smith = 2.5m

Munster's reported to be on 900k at the Storm.
I'm assuming B. Smith wouldn't be on a lot at the Storm. The Storm would upgrade B. Smith to try and keep him (I'm not sure by how much).

If there's more salary cap remaining (there should be, I'm just being on the safe side) I'd be looking at another prop. Welch (400k) comes to mind, especially with keeping Thompson in the front row (I don't want to lose Elliott). I think someone like Welch would be the perfect Tolman replacement and would compliment Thompson the best (that style of prop). The Broncos might need to shed some forwards to redistribute salary cap in other areas so we should be monitoring that situation in regards to someone like Flegler (600k).

I don't know what we have coming through besides Averillo (five-eighth/fullback) and Topine (second row/lock) but we should be recruiting in the areas that we don't have the best talent coming through unless it's experienced players for one to two years while we're waiting for the juniors to come through. That's what the Panthers did.

I'm just going to add, if you want to be really crazy, don't re-sign Foran, offer Keary 1.2m. Play Averillo in the centres (don't sign Cotric). Munster, Keary, B. Smith = 3.1m. A spine of Munster, Keary, B. Smith and Wakeham. It couldn't get any better. A very similar set-up to Manly (Knights too).
