I'm pretty happy all things considered
It's just a trial, so not getting to excited but was some great signs.

I'm really happy to get off to a positive start in terms of seeing some great effort and energy.
The win was a bonus.
And gets the ball rolling on a bit of a winning start

I'm really happy

It's just a trial
Yes, if you're Penrith or a few others entrenched in the Top 4, maybe it is "just a trial".
To a team/club that has learned to lose over the last 5+ years, it is a stake in the ground.
Some confidence in the new systems and philosophy that's been introduced over this pre-season.
So much better than what Barrett put out on the field this time last year.
There is hope...

I'm not a fan of "it's just a trial" and "it was against such and such"... what the coaching staff will be looking at is everything that they have seen at training being put together on the field... in previous seasons we have struggled to look very cohesive as a unit and that has continued into the season.. The boys will take a lot of confidence out of that hit out and for us fans it is very good signs that Ciraldo is doing a great job so far.

PROS

1. Mahoney and Preston
2. CC realising Topine is a hog and moved skeleton to centre for immediate results.

CONS

1. Waddles still sucks arse
2. All their tries were soft AF

PS best play of the day was Pele snapping that loud mouth Faider in half.

Stake in the ground ...

Its just a trial mate, let's not get carried away.

Good start to the year demonstrating good attitude and commitment. Really pleased.

But, we need to keep ourselves in check as '23 is about '24 more than anything else. A year to prepare and to get ourselves in a good place for the future.

Good start but all of this "stake in the ground" stuff is a little over the top.

Hog or doesn’t have the ability to set a wider man up?

Stuart was determined to get the win by keeping his main strike players on the field.

I was more than impressed with our first half, especially the effect Mahony has on the side. The second half saw us outlclassed by the Raiders, yet our youngsters more than held their own. Two of the Raiders tries were sheer luck, off Bulldogs errors.

Our defence was the big improvement, and we were more constructive in attack. Even Flanagan looked good.
Really happy with the way the team looked today.

When the Raider scored that length of the field try, there's so many Doggies jerseys in the frame.. sure we didn't get him, but that's really positive.
