1. Dufty - average in defence, showed glimpses in attack but also threw a terrible pass that was intercepted - 5/10
2. Naden - worst game I’ve ever seen him play. Couldn’t believe he only made 4 errors when I checked. Turned a seven tackle set into a line dropout. Must spend minimum 2 weeks in lower grades - 2/10
3. Schoupp - apart from falling off the tackle to allow the Raiders’ first of two tries, he’s staunch in defence and runs hard in attack - 7/10
4. Averillo - 2 or 3 errors out of minimal involvement. There should be no place for him anywhere in the first grade side - 3/10
5. Addo Carr - starting to build confidence and looked a lot more involved - 6.5/10
6. Burton - 11 tackle breaks. A shining light, creating a lot more. Need to secure him for the next 5 years ASAP - 8/10
7. Flanagan - ran at the line once only. I don’t remember any repeat sets. He’s what Burton needs but he’s pretty average - 5.5/10
8. Thompson - $800K buys you 70m in runs. Enough said - 4/10
9. Marshall King - slow service, poor vision often going to Dufty on the last instead of Burton. Made one decent line break and that’s it - 4.5/10
10. Vaughan - possibly our best forward tonight but only manages about 45 mins. Poor value - 6.5/10
11. Waddell - 80 minutes for 65m in runs and he just gets in the way. Back to his sloppy worst - 3.5/10
12. TPJ - yes he’s a psycho but he is our most passionate player. 140m in runs, 4 tackle breaks. Looked better in the second half when we were losing touch unfortunately - 6/10
13. Jackson - 55 minutes for 40 tackles highlights exactly all he is. Can’t justify a starting position and $750K for someone who stifles attack and only knows how to tackle - 5.5/10

14. Biondi Odo - a better coach would be giving this guy more than 10-15 mins. Looks far sharper and more involved than Marshall King - 5.5/10
15. Stimson - on the same page as Waddell. Stole 45 minutes of game time and made about 20 run metres - 4/10
16. Max King - only given a measly 40 minutes. Made over 10m per carry, plus 38 tackles with none missed - 7/10
17. Ava - 14 minutes. 2 runs for 13 metres. Why even bother? - 3/10

What an absolute dismal mess.

1. Dufty - 4/10
2. Naden - the lights were on, but no one was home 1.25/10
3. Schoupp - crucial miss 5/10
4. Averillo - needs to go looking for the ball alot more 1.99/10
5. Addo Carr - robbed of a try - 6/10
6. Burton - decent - 7.14/10
7. Flanagan - neither here nor there, not good not bad - 5/10
8. Thompson - underwhelming - 1.51/10
9. Marshall King - way too slow in attack, defended with effort - 6/10
10. Vaughan - needs to get fitness in better shape - 4/10
11. Waddell - incapable of passing, but defended strongly - 6/10
12. TPJ - our only source of aggression - 6/10
13. Jackson - captain should be able to rally a team, but he doesn't - 5/10

14. Biondi Odo - sketchy - 3.65/10
15. Stimson - yep - 0.84/10
16. Max King - average game, needed more - 4/10

Gus Gould on the salary cap the other night was full of wisdom. Discussing how each team had the same salary cap, yet

1. players would take overs to go to shit teams and accept unders to go to contenders
2. players develop or decline at clubs and as such, they should be valued in the market regularly. Ie Addo Carr coming to the dogs on $600K or whatever it was would probably now have a market value of $480K. Someone like Adam Reynolds’ market value would likely have increased since joining a lower performing team but then pulling them up, whereas Addo Carr joined a lower performing team and it’s evident that the team has pulled him down, rather than he pulling it up.

And that’s why I believe the Bulldogs didn’t really sign any marquee players, other than perhaps Burton, who is largely inexperienced in the halves. Marquee players arrive and pull the club up with them.

JAC came to the club for only $500k. Considering we were paying Remis $450k I think they club made a good move with that buy.

JAC is on a lot more than that.

We didn't give our half back much chance to attack last night due to a lack of field position .
Schoup effort in defence for the first try was pathetic. He is good defending when rushing players. But when back pleading he is still a turn style

Main problems are crap coaching staff, crap 7 and 9. Last week's win over the Chooks wasn't a turning point because it was JAC's 2 solo tries that won the game for us. The team is still repeating the same clunky, slow shite all year. Nothing has changed.

Schoup doesn’t have the strength to contain a back rower, he needed support from his back rower but they were no where to be scene

Isn't it great that a half we pissed off 4 years ago cause he was shit is still better than what we've bought or developed since.

Agreed, although the Roosters’ only tries in that game were questionable too

What's the go with Thompson.
He only turns up for half the games, if that, and he's getting paid a fortune.
