Why? If we are going to take care of him off the field why would we use any amount of our cap to do so.

Too right. They said he has just started running but hasn't done any sort of speed or agility or contact work. They said there is a slim chance he might play this year. I doubt it

as much as id like to see pat back playing footy this season, i believe the dogs are doing more of a complete and full rehabilitation program getting pat back to full fitness and not thinking of him returning to the field this season. it was a massive injury and one that ends most players careers
