The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the signing of Antonio Kaufusi on a two year deal starting in 2015.

Kaufusi returns to Australia after playing for the Huddersfield Giants (17 games) and then the Bradford Bulls (4 games) in the English Super League throughout season 2014.

The 29-year-old who was born in Tonga made his NRL debut for Melbourne Storm in season 2003 and went on to play 78 games for the club through until the end of season 2008. Kaufusi has also played with the North Queensland Cowboys (33 games in 2009-10), Newcastle Knights (33 games in 2011-12) and London Broncos (56 games in 2012-13).

Head coach Des Hasler has welcomed the experienced forward with open arms for 2015.

“Antonio is an experienced player and he will add some depth to our forward pack for next season, “Hasler said.

Kaufusi told Bulldogs TV he is looking forward to the challenge of being back in the NRL again after three seasons abroad.

The NRL is the toughest game…It’s great to be back and to try test myself again.” Kaufusi said.

Antonio has settled in quickly at Belmore and turns his sights towards inserting himself into the established Bulldogs engine room.

“They have got a great pack here at the dogs… I want to get in there and put my front foot forward.”

NSW Cup depth. Can be called upon as a reliable back up if we get smashed by injuries too.

It all comes down to how much they are paying for him.
If he comes relatively cheap he's a good buy as I'm sure Des will get the best out of him.

Glad to see we are going to have some depth and hopefully a better year in NSW cup next year. This season we had promising players in NSW cup but now we have players with FG experience which is a good thing.

He's actually a top Prop. I'm surprised he didn't go to a club that could guarantee him a first grade spot.

Signings like these make me worry though about our existing props and forwards and what the club's plan are for them.

He is a dud. He couldn't cut it at NQ, Newcastle, London Broncos, Huddersfield and Bradford, all since 2009.

could well be captain of nsw cup as we keep saying we got lots of death which we do but not a lot of experience in that depth outside what is likely to be our top 17 browne and perrett, not very experienced (maitua if he stay) the others are up and comers more than anything else losing harlan hurts more than some ppl realise
