A win in every grade so far today. Let’s hope the NRL can make it a clean sweep of 7
My mates sonWho the hell is Samuel Loizou,5 tries?
hayward should be starting hookerLucky escape, but Perham and Hopoi need a good talking to about defence.
Hayward seemed to spark us when he came on too.
Actually make that 2 tries lolJust watching the replay, loved when my little boy set up my big boy for a try. Lol
Starting to think Maybe Hayward, has looked good in all 3 games. Played like 20 min at lock as well today. How did O’Neill go in flegg is he ready to be tested in nsw cup.
Bbo, Hayward, Sexton, Burton and Hutchinson aren’t the future.
Has been a bit rocks and diamonds in the past good luck to him if he can step up. O’Neill looks most likely albeit on small sample size.Starting to think Maybe Hayward, has looked good in all 3 games. Played like 20 min at lock as well today.
When an NRL coach says a player is not ready for First Grade, generally it is because of defence not being up to the required level.Hope we learn to tackle by next week
Didn’t see the first half. We switched on at half time and thought knight was best on ground. Too bad about that error. Thought he might get a call up next week based on what we saw. One of the biggest bodies we have can hit hard enough to wrap up the ball. His hands just look terrible this year. When an NRL coach says a player is not ready for First Grade, generally it is because of defence not being up to the required level.
Watching the replay of yesterday’s NSW Cup game, I would say that there are numerous players in that boat.
Particularly at this time of the year in hot conditions, the best way to take the pressure off your defence is a high completion rate.
At 10 nil up Liam Knight’s loose carry saw us concede 4 tries with paper thin defence before we got back into the game. The second half was much better, but there is still some work to be done.
Size and experience wise he should be able to handle first grade. When we signed him last year I was warned by a mate who follows South’s that he makes a lot of handling errors, which we saw in the trials as well.Didn’t see the first half. I think we need to give him a go we just drop off to much when king isn’t on the field. He needs to start with king. If he starts off the bench it seems he gets too nervous.Size and experience wise he should be able to handle first grade. maybe a chance on the bench, he is becoming versatile and tries hardStarting to think Maybe Hayward, has looked good in all 3 games. Played like 20 min at lock as well today.
Edwards was hopeless yesterday. Some of the defence in reggies was diabolical - Matt Doorey was like Payne Haass but better! BUT imho there were some positives
1. Xerri on two occasions showed his acceleration and speed - and whilst he has some tackling issues his speed and ability to take the hard yardage runs is something fg neeeds
2. Patolo only played around 25 mins but some of his tackling was impressive - the old "ball n all style" - making the tackle, wrapping up the ball in a dominating way.
3. Haywards dummy half work
The negatives were everywhere Perham, Hopoi, Skelton again on report, Edwards/ Knight ( so, so, so slow seemed to be targets - ok if someone runs straight at them)
He was good early but got really gassed. Whatever injury he had must have effected his fitness.Edwards was hopeless yesterday.
