Mate there is not exactly a plethora of gun halfbacks available but himself and Ciro were able to convince an immensely talented young kid to join the squad and barring injury he will play FG this year. When you have huge roster imbalances and long contracts to players who don’t fit your strategy moving forward it takes a few years to fix it not 1 off season. He and Ciro will get some wrong but so far he’s got a lot more right since he has been here.

Gus could have signed Cleary and Tedesco in the off season and some on here would still find something to whine about, it amazes me how short people’s memories are, this team and club has improved out of sight in a very short period of time. The fact that we are playing the football we are with the injuries we are carrying is a fucking miracle.

I reckon it's more likely the NRL are cut at Gus' comments than the clubs. If they shut him up then they better do the same to every other commentator who ever criticises a referee for anything. They would probably love to bring in a rule that club employees can't commentate but what censorship that would be. Ennis and others would need to give up one of their jobs also. Probably laws against that. Gus loves sticking it to the NRL more than anyone and they would hate it. Gus doesn't have much affect on other clubs. All clubs should be happy there's a voice to complain about some of the NRL stupid rules
