Chatter has been steadily increasing. Broncos were a little more competitive last night, yet Mitchell seemingly invoking his own form of mercy rule, avoided another 30+ defeat, by a single point.

The Sydney Morning Herald is often very sloppy with their articles. This is wrong (we scored in the opening game... the three games they are referring to came after that), and indicates that the writers aren't really following the NRL:

The Bulldogs have not scored a point in their opening three games of the season, yet somehow they sit above Manly on the ladder. The season isn’t even a month old and already there is a chasm between the strong and struggling clubs.

I’m over lopsided results but before this season the signs were there with previous rule changes and salary cap management.

the top teams don’t overpay for stars while the low teams need to unfortunately.
