Exactly, why are people concerned about this
Because he needs to want to be medically retired.

If he signs say a four year deal. Then cops a head knock in the first round of season 1. Do you believe he is going to forfeit the money on that contract. He will stay around fighting to get back.

Anyone with his history cannot be signed on anything more than a year on year deal. Certainly not on top money.

Like CMP said, the player needs to agree to retire. Either way they get their money but he might think he has more footy in him etc and then you might only get 30 games out of him in 3 seasons at 800-900k a year. Either way I hope Keary stays healthy. He's a good player and you hate to see anyone have recurring concussion issues.

Luke Keary is 30 years old.

There’s no way he would demand a 4-year contract because there’s no way any team would offer him that considering his medical circumstances.

He could definitely negotiate a 2-year deal and then a 1 season at a time contract after that but both parties know what bargaining power the Keary camp does or doesn’t hold.

His contract could be paid out, so he is not disadvantaged, but if he is medically retired it's not on the Cap. He also could be offered a "post playing position" that just happens to pay the same as his playing contract, not like it hasn't happened before.

We aren’t signing Keary for 3/4 years lol, it would be a two year deal with some option for a third year, maybe club option which would be the best possible deal but it would probably be a player or the mutual option. Keary’s achieved everything in the game and he seems like a club first type of guy so if troubles do occur i feel like we will do it fine.

Hogan was chopping Klinks receptionist Hilda.
How good was her rack!
Loved that era’s torpedo titties!
There were 2 Secretaries, the first was Cynthia Lynn, who played "Helga", Bob Crane had a long time affair with her.
She was replaced by Patricia Olson (stage name Sigrid Valdis) who played "Hilda", her and Bob Crane were married for 9 years.
Crane actually made amateur pornos with unknowing co stars together with his friend John Carpenter, who many believe actually killed him, bludgeoned him to death with a camera tripod. He used to show them around the movie sets together with the stills of his many conquests, how to kill a career.

I'd love Keary short term (~2 years) to finish his NRL career here. He's reported on 850k for 23/24 (maybe Rooster chip in ~100k), probably could match that no issue and give him an extra year if we could get him early.
