Medical retirement doesn't really hurt our cap thoughYeah he’s one decent head knock away from medical retirement, pass.

True but still think it’d be a risk as we aren’t the Roosters or Souths. NRL would probably screw us if it came to that. His experience would be great for us but yeah nah.Medical retirement doesn't really hurt our cap though
It’s a risk but we’ll have a 19/20 year old Oloapu to slot in by then you’d imagine.Signing Keary would be a massive risk at his age. He wouldn't be cheap. And his concussion history is no joke.
Exactly, why are people concerned about thisMedical retirement doesn't really hurt our cap though
Because he needs to want to be medically retired.Exactly, why are people concerned about this
Like CMP said, the player needs to agree to retire. Either way they get their money but he might think he has more footy in him etc and then you might only get 30 games out of him in 3 seasons at 800-900k a year. Either way I hope Keary stays healthy. He's a good player and you hate to see anyone have recurring concussion issues.Exactly, why are people concerned about this
Luke Keary is 30 years old.Because he needs to want to be medically retired.
If he signs say a four year deal. Then cops a head knock in the first round of season 1. Do you believe he is going to forfeit the money on that contract. He will stay around fighting to get back.
Anyone with his history cannot be signed on anything more than a year on year deal. Certainly not on top money.
His contract could be paid out, so he is not disadvantaged, but if he is medically retired it's not on the Cap. He also could be offered a "post playing position" that just happens to pay the same as his playing contract, not like it hasn't happened before.Because he needs to want to be medically retired.

Loved that era’s torpedo titties!
i think a few of us on here said awhile back Keary is a better option. He would be a sensational mentor for the young half.Apparently next season bro.
Keary's still a quality NRL half. Good experienced players with leadership/development skills are valuable. Can't see how Keary would be much better than Reynolds. Despite the age difference.
For real? Can't see how Keary would be much better than Reynolds. Despite the age difference.
