No Finals Action 2 Years Running

According to my database of records (my brain) we have not missed back-to-back final series since the inception of the NRL (1998), until now that is...

2010/2011 = Fail

This is unfamiliar circumstances to me. Im so used seeing our team play finals footy.


Can anyone tell me when was the last time (before now) that we have missed out on back-to-back final series?

Not sure but fmd it's brutal watching all these other teams run around in the finals. I'm starting to really miss that feeling of turning up to a finals game in september, with the warm spring air and the butterflies in the stomach.

They better pull their fingers out next year...

That is why whenever your team makes the finals, it is important to go out to the game and support them cause you never know when they will be playing finals footy again!

So it has been 20 years since we have last missed 2 final series in a row. That was a pretty solid run, and the majority of my life span. Which is why i am so used to success.

yes its a shame its not the same it doesn't feel right i will watch the other teams go around , well i surpose i will have to go for the teams i played for as a kid thats balmain tigers but realy it was ermington we were in the balmain district,, wyane pearce and ollison phillerparner were our coachers , forgive if i didn't spell there names right,, anyway i realy hope this time next year i will be stocking the frige with beers and wearing me bulldogs gear and cheering them on ! i dont think i could take another crap year..take care ,,bite man:beerchug::beerchug::beerchug:

I was talking yesterday to my uncle who goes for Saints at our family lunch about Saints finals chances. All I seem to be doing the last few years at this time of the year is ask other people about their teams finals chances. Or talk or post about other teams finals chaces.

But yesterday it really hit me hard as to how long it feels like it's been since we were the club we were. I know we had a run in 2009 but 3 out of the past 4 years we haven't made the finals and I haven't felt like we could win the comp since 2006!

We were so spoilt that pretty much every September we knew we'd have a team in the finals that would be competitive or be a shot at winning it all. Nowadays we'd be lucky to creep into the top 8 let alone win the comp. And please no one give me that top 8 rubbish because plenty of teams make the finals every year, half the teams make the finals and we've spent more aggressively than any other team in the last 4 years.

This is why whoever is coach next year and beyond needs to come in, shake things around (because clearly things haven't been working under numerous coaches for a while now) and make sure that next year and the next few years are successful. If that means playing defence only football with a handful of points so be it. Whatever it takes.

dont worry toy boy next year we will be in the 8,, we have the right players who crave success ,,this year we needed to work out new combo's and now lafai will come into our centers with speedy morris and ben barba running off them and we will have fast wingers and a much stronger halves as in hodkinson and joe romelo + our forward pack will be a force to be reckoned with ,,''yep i realy can not see why u are worrying,,just kick back and enjoy whats left of this year and get ready for the ride of your life in 2012 ''the year of the bulldogs..''

Well last year we were 9-15. This year 12-12. we improved despite the coaching debacle and key long term injuries. We only missed by F/A. I think we have plenty to look forward to next year.
