News NANAI REPORTEDLY OFFERED $4.2 MILLION 5-YEAR-DEAL

Exactly. Kikau is the best backrower in the game & the Panthers didn't think he's worth 800k a season. You don't pay a forward that amount of money unless they're a SBW type player.
Let's see (using Zero Tackle figures) these must be SBW type players in other teams;
David Fafita $1,200k
Jason Tuamalolo $900k
Tino Fa'asuamaleaui $900k
Jake Trbojevic $900k
James Fisher-Harris $850k
Addin Fonua-Blake $850k
Cameron Murray $850k
Reagan Campbell-Gillard $800k
Tohu Harris $800k

Not $800k but pretty close;
Jack de Belin $750k
Dale Finucane $750k
Josh Papalii $750k
Joseph Tapine $750k

Always a Bulldog

750k for Finucane is a horrible deal. One of the more overrated players in the comp now.

Fifita only genuine second rower on that list. The rest play middle.

Amazing what can happen when you play in a side that suddenly kicks ass after your coach calls out the refs. Meanwhile at Belmore we've had people who just sit down and let us get shafted by the corrupt fools.

The problem is.... we are already paying Kikau that kind of money on top of TPJ.

You cannot possibly justify paying it again on another 2nd rower with blaring weakness at halfback and fullback.

I cant believe the thought process of some of you.... you aren't willing to pay 1M or 1.2M on a superstar spine player, yet quite happily want to spend 800k routinely on just about every forward position in the team....

What part of the last 25 years of premiers have you guys not noticed?

Forwards are pawns in the game.
Spine players are gold

can easily fit them in.
for example parra
RCG and Parlo on $750 to 800K each
matterson re signed on $700k approximately
Lane would be on $600k minimum
Hodson they bought for 500-600k
they also have moses, brown and queen on $750 to $800k
rough figures obviously but it can work and the cap is increasing.

Yep. Nanai only taking carries in good ball areas and relying too much on kicks... Luxury signing imo.

Dragons will be the team he signs with. Good on him!

I thought Nanai along with Carrigan was one of QLD's best players throughout the series. He really impressed me with how much he stood up in Origin and carried his team at times for such a young player.

He'd be chasing crazy money but he may eventually prove to be worth it for whoever signs him based on those performances and what he's done at the Cowboys.
